The menu rotates daily at the homey Italian deli and grocery Bottega Fiorentina, but the results are always worth seeking out. Affordable pricing and fresh ingredients have made the red awnings on the corner of Babcock and Harvard streets a Coolidge Corner staple since 1994, but it’s the food that has kept legions loyal. At this food shop--decked out to look like Florence via decor--pick up your deli meats for the week, like salami, prosciutto and thin slices of mortadella. Pastas are available frozen or dried, and there’s plenty of exotic olive oils and boxes of pastries to fool anyone into…

Love it!

I spent a semester in college in Rome, and I've rarely found food that matched true "Italian". Bottega Fiorentina, however, came VERY close to the real thing! The service was awesome, wine menu great, and ambience was unbeatable. Every time I go I really feel like I'm back in Italy! Make sure to call ahead- very small and limited seating. Definately worth every penny!

  • Pros: AMBIENCE, Service, Parking, Wine Selection, Food Quality
  • Cons: Limited Seating

The Best Italian

by Shabadoo at Citysearch

After a two-week vacation in Florence, my wife and I were disappointed by the lack of any food that matched the flavor and quality of what we had there. The North End has some great restaurants, but the dozen or so places we've tried are either serving the cuisine of other regions or they just don't get it right (don't get me started about the lame "gelato"). Bottega Fiorentina (and the companion restaurant Firenze) gets it right. The emphasis is on accentuating the best possible ingredients. Simple approaches done masterfully and with friendly service. The bresaola sammich is my pick for the best sammich in the Boston area. Pastas and sauces are also unbeatable. Wish there was more seating.

  • Pros: Best Italian Food, Fresh Ingredients, Friendly Staff
  • Cons: Inadequate Seating, Not Enough Parking
