“The soup here is excellent!”
“If you like soup and have some money to spare, this is the place for you.”
Soup emporium stays busy year-round thanks to its roster of affordable comfort food..
In Short
Primarily a takeout business, New England Soup Factory has five small tables for customers who just can't wait to get home to feast on the kitchen's award-winning soups. The selection changes daily, but varieties like beefy chili and triple-strength chicken vegetable soup are always on offer. Offbeat soup flavors include eggplant parm and carrot-ginger. Sandwiches are overstuffed and include specialty ingredients like pulled chicken breast and homemade Russian dressing.
Worth hunting for. Like so many great spots in Boston and vicinity, this joint is hard to find. You can't see it as you drive by, you have to be on foot. (It's rather opposite the Puppet Showplace Theater, if that is any help.) Once you find it, mark it well in your memory for the chow is indeed tasty. It is an art gallery and the soup is the work. It has been packed every time I have been there, but on a nice day you can have a seat on a nearby wall and sip and slurp away!
Good Soup, but what about pasta?. I have had excellent lobster bisque and other challenging broths, but I feel that Bottegia Florentina deserves as much attention for their wonderful Northern Italian sauces.
