“It looks to me like they've added about 15 new 50" plasmas, its got to be the best place to watch a baseball or footbal game in New England, great views from any where.”
“The good part is that the drinks were good, and so was the DJ.”
“Our meal was great, service was great and the staff was incredibly accomodating.”
“nice place to go out to eat.”
“will admit: Some people will enjoy the Charlie Horse.”
“place you can take the whole family for a decent meal for an affordable price.”
Poor Management. Friday night I went out to dinner with 12 people and the manager on duty refused to let in our friend, Chris because his MA license had expired 3 days earlier. Chris is 37 years old! Not to mention there were children dining inside at the time. It is ridiculous that a man his age cannot even come into the establishment to eat dinner! I tried to reason with the manager for nearly 10 minutes with out making any progress. It wasn't until our entire party stood up to leave that the manager changed his mind and allowed our friend inside to eat with us (he was prohibited from drinking alcohol). The people in my party traveled from all over Massachusetts and Rhode Island for our gathering and for most of my group this was their first experience visiting the Charlie Horse. The whole ordeal was very upsetting and also embarrassing since I was the person who had suggested that we come to the Charlie Horse.
Gathering place for Great Sports!. I stopped at The Charlie Horse one night to meet up with some friends, get a bite to eat and watch the Red Sox game. It looks to me like they've added about 15 new 50" plasmas, its got to be the best place to watch a baseball or footbal game in New England, great views from any where. They've also added a new outside patio with 3 large plasma tvs. To my delight, you could have dinner, a cold beer and a cigarette without leaving your seat. My wife who's a non smoker wasnt botherd by the smoke at all. Our meal was great, service was great and the staff was incredibly accomodating. i would reccomend this unique dining and entertaining experience for any sports enthusiast of any age.
Ok as a restaurant. Awful as a night club.. The restaurant part of the Charlie Horse is nice, but as a nightclub the only reason people in Bridgewater go here is because it's a local bar with a dance floor and Boston is a pretty far drive from here. The only reason to really go to the Charlie Horse is if you want to play pool or run in to people you know. There is a college near by, so it will get crowded, just not with the right crowd. Most of the girls that come in look under 21, and dress cheap (like big girls in booty shorts with weaves and sneakers on) and the guys are usually in their late 20's, early 30's mostly staring at the underage girls. It is a sportsbar, so I agree to the "goldfish in a shark tank comment". Girls you will be approached by every sketchy guy in the place! The good part is that the drinks were good, and so was the DJ. Other than that, for the money you pay to get in, go in town and have a good time with guys who aren't sketchy or out to get with underage girls!
Not for me. Large bar, TV's everywhere you look, and plenty of games to keep you busy. Great place to watch sports. The only reason to eat here is if your more interested in getting rid of your kids in the game room than eating a decent meal. I have been there many times over the years (to meet friends) and have never had a good meal. Stick with the drinks - if you can get one. If you have to eat, I would just order some fries and call it a night. On the weekends, you can count on a police detail at the front door, a packed parking lot, and not a chance in h*ll of getting a drink at the bar. And ladies, if you like the feeling of being a goldfish in a shark tank . . . . this is the place for you on the weekends.
West Bridgewater sports bar provides its patrons with a dizzying variety of distractions..
In Short
First and foremost a sports bar, the Charlie Horse houses 60 big screen TVs as well as a pair of huge high-definition projectors. While waiting for the game to start, patrons enjoy distractions like video games (more than 50) and billiards (11 Victorian-style tables). Various rooms, or the entire establishment, can be rented out for private parties. The lengthy menu includes dozens of sharable appetizers and finger foods, plus sandwiches and seafood dishes.
Great Place. This is probably the best independent sports bar I have ever been to and second, in my opinion, to only Jillian's in Boston. This place is for the whole family. Games for kids and the kids in us. About 15 pool tables, there's 2 bars and a huge function room. This place is the complete package. See you there.
Giddy Up!. A place you can take the whole family for a decent meal for an affordable price. Fun for all including bar, many TV's, pool tables, game room with prizes, 2 bars, live bands. A nice place to go out to eat.
