Great Local Ice Cream & Sandwich Shop. I enjoy just about everything on Friendly's Menu, and have been a customer since the '70's , when I lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I really love getting a whole Carafe of Coffee when I order it. I especially love the Fish and Chips, and Fishamajig Sandwich. I did just try the new Fried Chicken Dinner, though, and was disappointed. The amount of Mashed potatoes was sparce, and they forgot to add gravy. The Corn was wrinkled, and looked like leftovers I've had in my Fridge.

The Chicken wasn't too bad, but not particularly well seasoned. I must admit, though,that it was nicely crunchy...they got that right. If I order the meal again, I will no doubt remind the waitress that I expect a "REAL" serving of mashed potatoes & gravy, and probably just get cole slaw...they do a super job with that!

Friendly's opened its first location in 1935, and thanks to red vinyl booths and an old-time vibe, many of its 500-plus locations still feel rooted in that era. While nobody's ever mistook Friendly's signature ice cream for Ben & Jerry's, the restaurant does deserve acclaim for its Fribbles (extra-thick frappes) and inexpensive sundaes. Straightforward breakfast platters are served in the mornings only, while standard diner fare (tuna melts, beef burgers) is offered day and night.

Worst Friendly's anywhere. I am not one to complain but the people working here are flat out incompetent. Because my wife loves their crispy honey chicken salad I have given them more chances than I should have. The burgers are never cooked the way I order and are put together sloppily. The french fries are always cold like they were cooked an hour before. It has come to the point where if I pick a salad up for my wife, I pick something up for myself somewhere else. It's not just the cooks either. The people behind the counter always have trouble finding my order and simple things like asking for extra dressing seems to confuse the heck out of them.

On the brightside- The ice cream is still pretty good. But why not go to Peaceful Meadows or Dairy Queen both of which are 5 min. down the street and hire people that could pass a 3rd grade math exam.

Bottom line: I would avoid this one like the plague.
