What People Are Saying About Axis

The Scene
Stylish, trendy crowds that gravitate toward alternative, and loud, music. Don't expect pastel colors, laser shows and spinning balls. Do expect different, like Mondays, when it's gay night, featuring male go-go dancers. Not to be out-done, heterosexuals have their chance to party on Sunday, when amateur strip night begins at 11pm.

The Draw
DJ's spin alternative tunes from the '80s on Friday, while Saturday is taken over by the '90s and a live broadcast on WFNX. Soul and funk are featured during the week, with Wednesday reserved for live national and local acts. Beware of the college crowd. Axis opens its doors to anyone 19 and over on Monday through Friday.

This is a great concert venue. I have been here many times. Its huge, its full of a diverse crowd and plays a great variety of local shows from local bands to big bands. I come here all the time gladly whenever there is something I am interested in seeing!

The Axis is a small, intimate venue. I always had fun going here and seeing ska and punk bands play when I was in high school. the ticket prices are inexpensive, typical under twenty dollars. At those types of shows it gets crowded and a bit smelly fast but it's fun when you're fifteen. The bouncers are great, from my experience. They keep the crowd from getting too crazy and aren't jerks. A lot of up and coming bands play here, from indie rock groups to DJs.

I was at the Axis for a show in January and it was awesome! It was an awesome show which is probably why it added to the awesomeness of the place, but it was fun! The security gaurds were really nice and made the wait for the show more enjoyable. The parking was good because the sox were away, and the food wasnt bad. I definately think is was worth the 12 dollars it cost to get in! Oh and yea it was crowded, but that adds to the fun!
