The guy Dan Millen that books the music for Copperfiled's was unpleasant..
We played Copperfields on a Saturday night. We had about twenty of our friends there, maybe a few more. Dan Millen of Rock On Concerts LLC charged a $12 cover for three bands, each getting an hour long set. After our set, Dan refused to give us our cut of the door; he said that none of our friends paid cover. In speaking with ALL of our friends, we found out Dan was not telling the truth. You should try to avoid working with Dan Millen at all costs, he lacks integrity and he is a poor businessman.
If you want to play a gig as a band starting out, I recommend The Abbey Lounge, PA's Lounge, or TT the Bears. These small pubs will only charge your friends $3 - $5 for cover and you will probably get a longer set.
I have to say that the owners and bouncers at Copperfields were cool. They took the time to hear us out and actually took our side. Apparently, several other bands have complained about Dan Millen's business tactics, and the owners were interested in hearing our side of the story. At the end of the day, however, Copperfields is still employing Dan Millen. If you really want to play there you should contact the bar directly and ask that they can book your gig without using Dan Millen of Rock On Concerts LLC.

Laid-back sports bar provides an affordable pre- and post-game gathering spot for Sox fans..
In Short
Copperfield's is among the most low-key options in the Fenway Park area. Black-and-white photos of Ted Williams and other Red Sox greats cover the walls, and there are plenty of plasma TVs scattered about for those who couldn't score a ticket. A casual, sporty crowd fills the bar's two levels to down pints--there are over a dozen brews on tap--and to listen to local rock outfits on weekend nights.
