Editorial Review for Jake Ivory's – by Citysearch Staff
In Short
Among Lansdowne Street's numerous nightlife options, Jake Ivory's stands out for its boisterous dueling pianos entertainment. Local pianists pack crowds in on the weekends, when there's usually a cover charge. On a good night, when both pianists light it up and the crowd is ordering monster-sized beers the energy can be infectious. Tunes include a lot of audience requests, with favorites coming from the likes of Van Morrison, Jimmy Buffett and Billy Joel.

Nestled in between hot dance clubs Tequila Rain and the Axis on Lansdowne Street, Jake Ivory’s brings back classic entertainment from days gone by with its dueling pianos churning out the tunes all night long. But don’t expect any ragtime music! These talented pianists who double as the singers perform pop to hip-hop, from Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back” to Boston classics like Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.” And despite the lack of DJ, there’s arguably just as much dancing going on at this club as any of the others on Lansdowne. Only real downsides: occasional long lines at the bar and lack of places to sit down once you get tired from dancing.
Pros: music, dancing
Cons: lack of places to sit down, crowded
