Located behind the Green Monster, a true Fenway landmark serves as a popular meeting spot before or after a game..
In Short
The Cask's walls are lined with loads of high-definition TVs and photos that depict the histories of Fenway and the Sox. Locals fill the huge wraparound bar that resides in the
middle of the main room while keeping an eye on all the sports news via an ever-present sports ticker. Weekend nights see DJs play classic hits from the '70s and '80s, and students pass time playing foosball, pinball and video games.…
WHITE RUSSIAN?. That is your own fault for ordering a WHITE RUSSIAN. In Boston we drink beer and are wicked sox fans
My first visit. I was there once: drinks were very weak and my glass was dirty. My white russian was just pure milk and ice cubes. The music was good, but the DJ was driving me crazy by changing songs every 10 sec!!!
Boston's ONLY real sports bar!.
I own a sports bar in another city and was on a fact finding mission to evaluate sports bars in other cities. I made a list of all the "Must See" sports bars in Boston and spent a week in Beantown
looking at all the "Best of's". Several of the bars were nothing more than just places to watch the Red Sox. They could care less if you were from another town and wanted to watch something other than a local team. Others were "Sports Restaurants". One in particular--voted Best Of--was more like a Denny's with bad TV's. Some were just brew pubs with televisions.
Cask 'n' Flagon has, by far, the set up for sports fans. With almost 40 plasmas out front and 5 projectors in the large party area in the rear (known as "Oliver's") they have the ability AND THE WILLINGNESS to put on the game of YOUR choice.
The food is great. The Chef (not the fry cook) has done an outstanding job to give you a wide variety of choice cuisine.
Now, I went in the fall/winter and I hear the line to get in can be long when the boys of summer return. All I can say is, GET THERE EARLY--it's worth it!…
"Bouncers" are the WORST. Cask was much better before the sold out, like stated above. However, their "bouncers" are ridiculous. They are on a total power trip and act like complete jerks to any guy that they are not friends with. I go there now as a last resort, or if I am w/friends that really want to go. Very poor customer service but still surviving on their name...…
