The Scene
In the very dark upstairs of Ramrod, men of all ages wear business suits, jeans and leather while lining the bar or crowding around a lone pool table. Adult films play on a small TV screen while industrial beats boom in the background. A main staircase descends into the downstairs area. Here men of all types--singles, students, drag queens--congregate, play pool and join the constant stream in and out of Machine, the Ramrod's dance club within a club.
The Draw
The near absence of women indicates what everyone here has in common; a desire to meet and dance with other men. Downstairs, men gather around intimate tables, in lounge-y areas and around metallic bars. Bodies, some shirtless, throng the dance floor, pumping their pelvises to the impeccable sound system. A select few slip into a room reserved for the leather-clad. Others couple and withdraw into dark corners.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoThe staff forbids those without tickets to access Machine from inside Ramrod. If you plan to hit the Machine dance floor, buy your ticket when you arrive to avoid getting stuck in the longer late-night line.
Look GoodThe leather room strictly enforces its all-leather attire rule. Come fully clad if you want in; a leather jacket won't cut it.

Haven't gone here for a while. I had stopped coming here when renovations were going on for months! When I saw the ad for the newly opened leather shop, I came back in to check the place out. I had a great time, the atmosphere has changed, for the better. And there are STILL plenty of hot guys cruising this popular boston staple. My fears that the Ramrod was going to become a twinkie den were dead wrong, and I am glad to see this place STILL is the place to be for men who like men!

Visited Boston & went to all the bars. This place is by far the best club in the city. Very diverse, yet seperate crowds. There is a huge (packed) dance club down a flight of stairs, and a Leather Dresscode enforced back room. And the full pool hall is awesome as well. Met some pretty hot guys here. Definately the best pick up joint in the city. I almost felt like I was in Montreal on a Friday night. Saturday night was busier up in the back room, and I was impressed with the whole place. By no means is it Montreal, but, I understand what they are trying to create there. Great job guys, keep up the hard work, and thanks for a wonderful vacation!
