  1. Lousy decor and rude waiters.
  2. This restaurant, which has a convenient location to the T, but not for parking, is a great deal.
  3. The atmosphere is weird because the large back area has no windows.

  1. It's hard to enjoy any meal at this restaurant because of the extremely rude service from the entire staff.
  2. My favorite there is pork with jellyfish.
  3. Great lobsters and steamed fresh fish.
  4. Extensive menu especially good Hong Kong / Cantonese style food.

  7. Awesome food and great prices!
  8. This restaurant has a very good chinese food however they are a bit un-organized.
  9. Great Chinese food!
  10. What I have seen (and eaten) is food that is made from very fresh ingredients, expertly prepared, Hong Kong style.
  11. The radish in this dish is quite crispy and sweet, giving a perfect balance of taste.
  12. This place is also a real place for cheap buy : 13 bucks for 2 lobsters , 9 bucks for well cooked two big crabs, and 4-dollar lunch special with free appetizer and soups.
  13. And it's the only Chinese restaurant where I'll order fried rice or sweet and sour pork (light crispy battered, juicy not overcooked, with an authentic sauce and mixed veggies) without regrets.
  14. Also, before finding the r o a c h... the chicken was dry on the outsides.
  15. Ordered some other special on the menu like the fresh fish and was pleasantly surprised to find everything awful.
  16. This is an excellent place to go for seafood.
  17. The seafood was decent and weel-priced however, the beef and chicken dishes were less than average.

Best Chinese in Boston

by marvingardens at Citysearch

I've eaten here dozens of times over the past two years and have never witnessed any insect sightings. What I have seen (and eaten) is food that is made from very fresh ingredients, expertly prepared, Hong Kong style. Their soft shell crab, pea pod stems in garlic, crispy stuffed tofu are all highlights. And it's the only Chinese restaurant where I'll order fried rice or sweet and sour pork (light crispy battered, juicy not overcooked, with an authentic sauce and mixed veggies) without regrets. It's the best Chinese food I've had outside of New York, and better than anything in Boston Chinatown. Boston's Board of Health is among the strictest around, and if the r o a c h reports from last year are true, they'd be shut down by now. I'm going back.

  • Pros: Great food, authentically and expertly prepared (whether it's true Hong Kong or American-style)
  • Cons: Interior is standard Chinese-American tacky.

R o a c h e s in my sesame chicken

by lakeside575 at Citysearch

Picked up my $5 lunch combo which included soup, egg fried rice, sesame chicken, and at least one r o a c h. If you're into eating insects, this might be the place for you. The r o a c h was nicely fried alongside the chicken... it took on the nice redish color of the oil. Looked crispy and not too overcooked...

Also, before finding the r o a c h... the chicken was dry on the outsides...

  • Cons: insect in my food

Food May Include R o a c h e s

by maggiepk at Citysearch

I work on Babcock St, close to Victoria Seafood. I have eaten there on several occasions, only

certain dishes such as the salt and pepper chicken wings, the lo mein, lobster, and salt and pepper shrimp.

So tonight i had a taste for the wings, the lo mein and shrimp. I live in newton but I pleaded with my Son-in-Law to drive to Boston to pick it up for me. I was starving when he arrived only to find a big insect on top of the

shrimp. I had heard stories from my co-workers before about finding a certain insect in their food! I didn't listen.

Today I'm telling everyone to listen....they serve along with their meals.

(this did not allow me to name the certain insect served, but I think you know what I found!) R o a c h e s

Hard to believe that a city with so many great chinese restaurants I had to walk into this place! Must be a new owner since previously had heard it was pretty good especially with lobsters. Surprised when I ordered the twin lobster special that it was ALL OUT. Ordered some other special on the menu like the fresh fish and was pleasantly surprised to find everything awful. Lousy decor and rude waiters. Manager ever worse when I had a question. I wont bore you with more except to say FORGET THIS PLACE.

  • Pros: Cheap prices
  • Cons: Lousy decor, lousy service and lousy food

Good Lobster, Poor Service

by mrsb27 at Citysearch

I have been there about 4 times and its a hit or miss with the customer service. But I'll give my review that based on my experience last night, because it is basically all the same. It was hard to get the waiters attention. I had more that one waiter and also had to get up to pay my own bill. It seemed they constantly forgot about us on more than one occasion. They brought us the wrong food and what grossed me out was that even after they placed the food in frint of us and we all talked over it, they took it back and gave it to the correct table. I'm sure the people who ate the food wouldn't have if they knew it was talked over prior to them receiving it. All in all, the service is bad and I don't reccomend going if you expect decent service when you are a paying customer. I'm sure I will never go again.

  • Pros: The food comes out quick
  • Cons: Bad customer service
