Overview – Wonderdrug got its start as Summit Records in 1990 by Berklee grad Ken Cmar. The label started as a mixed bag with metal heads Stomp Box and groove/funk band Chucklehead, but Cmar gave his label a strong, head banging focus after signing 6L6 and Honkeyball. – – Features – For Wonderdrug, the louder the better. The label hosts a slate of testosterone-heavy rockers such as white trash metal band Scissorfight, foul-mouth ear piercers Slughog and groove hardcore band Colepitz. The label is small, but growing. Know Before You Go:
Some of Wonderdrug's artists can be a little hard to stomach, especially if you're fond of political correctness. One of Scissorfight's best tracks is "Planet of Ass," and the lyrics veer close to the title.
