What People Are Saying About Fenway Park

Featured Review

Eric Grossman

Contributor

In Short – Just as Wrigley Field has its signature ivy, Fenway has the Green Monster, the famous 37-foot-high left-field wall that transforms lazy fly balls into home runs. Other legendary characteristics of this brick-faced stadium (opened in 1912) include one of the major league's last remaining manual scoreboards and unbelievably small seats. Sight lines vary from awesome (next to the dugout), to downright obstructed--especially around some spots in the grandstand.

Editor's Tips

Parking:
Don't even think about driving--take the T to Kenmore and follow the masses.
Know Before You Go:
A child is never too young for his or her first game, but be sure to make it a day game, and try to get seats in the alcohol-free grandstand sections (32 and 33).
The Extras:
Behind-the-scenes tours are offered hourly (Mon-Sat 9am-4pm; Sun noon-4pm), with hours varying on game days.
ambiance
75.0% positive
  1. NOT worth the parking nightmare or the uncomfortable overcrowded seats
  2. The seats may be small, but you feel like you're a part of the game when you're there and the tradition and atmosphere are incredible.
  3. If you feel like paying 10 times the price for parking, pushing your way through thousands of drunks die-hard baseball fans, paying ridiculous prices for crappy food that you wait 20 minutes in line for all to sit back in your tin seat covered in sode to
  4. love the atmosphere, especially real grass playing field, the way baseball should be played.
  5. and let someone who wants to be there enjoy the game and atmosphere.
  6. it is the best place on earth it is so much fun to watch the sox gam
  7. would recommend this venue on almost every area except parking.
  8. But the people and fans are so fun and the players so friendly.
  9. While Fenway Park certainly has a number of faults it is still a truly fun place to take your son and daughter.
  10. Rude parking lot attendant
  11. Unfortunately, while the park is authentic the parking is archaic.
  12. Nice friendly family atmosphere.

  1. There is also some of the best sausage sandwiches I have ever had, along w/ BEER, and other drinks for the kids.
  2. Pizza will sometimes look undercooked, subs too small, beer will spill, hotdogs are awesome though.
  3. The beer is expensive, the seats aren?
  4. The Food is average --stick to hotdogs and sausage --do not go with anything else-- The tap beer (bud light) will stay with you for 2 days --the bathrooms are tight and the people rude.
  5. I'm treated like a terrorist if I want a beer because I have a NH license, they don't accept that and food, big bucks.
  6. Miss the Big O, served beer right at your seats, as many you wanted, there was no cut off,for less than 20bucks I could sit back and V. Guerro do his warm ups in the outfield yards away.

  6. You got the green monster, very dedicated Red Sox nation, some seats along the third base line that's been there since Fenway opened, and the good ballpark food.
  7. Unfortunately, while the park is authentic the parking is archaic.
  8. The seats are tiny, the tickets, food and souveniers are expensive and then there is the question of where to park.

  1. The crowd is into it and it's a very family friendly place.
  2. was in Boston one time and I didn't even have a ticket to the game but just walking around the park before game time seeing the masses of people and all of the excitement before the game was an amazing experience.
  3. like Fenway but the people that worked there were entirely out of line and made me embaressed to be a red sox fan.
  4. Fenway or Sox administrator should casually hang around that area prior to the next game, and they will assuredly witness firsthand what I'm talking about and witness his extremely rude behavior.
  5. Great people watching.
  6. Nice friendly family atmosphere.
  7. The Food is average --stick to hotdogs and sausage --do not go with anything else-- The tap beer (bud light) will stay with you for 2 days --the bathrooms are tight and the people rude.
  8. Don't know if he is a subcontractor who works at the lot or if he is affiliated with the Sox of Fenway in any way, but this man should definitely NOT be the first contact that fans have when they arrive at friendly Fenway.
  9. But the people and fans are so fun and the players so friendly.

Once in a lifetime experience

by BSanders22 at Citysearch

The park makes it tough to actually see the game clearly so stick with the bleachers or roof box seats if you dont want a pole in your face. But everyone needs to experience at least one Red Sox game live

A place all Sox fans have to visit

by jenheidir at Citysearch

For members of Sox Nation, as far as sports-watching experiences go, arguably nothing could compare to actually being able to see the team live in this historic green monster of a ballpark surrounded by thousands of other Sox-crazed fans. The beer is expensive, the seats aren?t always comfy and not all views of the game are great (especially from the outfield), but Fenway is home for Sox fans and nothing can match the electricity of being at the ballpark on game day? especially when the Yankees are in town.
