Editorial Review for No Name Restaurant – by Eric Grossman
In Short
Befitting its name, this Seaport District eatery offers little by way of decor and ambiance, with only simple harbor views distracting diners from their lobsters and chowder. On any given day, hundreds of tourists and a smattering of local workers fill the No Name's sprawling dining room to be served by indifferent, yet competent, servers. The seafood, while fresh, is prepared minimally, with most items offered broiled, baked or fried. Fish like scrod and scallops, garnished simply with lemon and served with tartar sauce, scream for more flavor, but with prices this low it's hard to complain.

My colleague and I walked to No Name from Rows Warf after we returned from whale watching, where we heard about the restaurant. We had no preconceived notions other than that the seafood is very fresh, and we were not disappointed. We went there for the seafood alone, but we found our Greek waiter to be friendly and funny, and service was very fast. Approach No Name with a positive attitude and be friendly with the staff, and you will not be disappointed if it is fresh seafood that you are looking for. The T-shirts are great, too.
Pros: Fresh seafood
Cons: No ambience

How can the overall rating for this place be 4 1/2 stars when half of all of the reviews give only 1 star? This is simply not a good restaurant. They're going on the past reputation of what used to be a great place. I'm not sure who's giving them a 5 star review - maybe the owner or his relatives? Bad food, bad service, lacking in cleanliness equals just plain bad!! I really don't know how this place stays open. Maybe it's the busloads of tourists that are forced to eat there. The owners must have a contract with some travel agency.
