Editorial Review for Seaport Hotel – by Citysearch Editors

The Scene
This hotel is located ten minutes from Logan Airport and the Financial District, and sits across the street from the World Trade Center. Given its location, it's no wonder it caters to business travelers. The property opened in 1998 and hosts a corporate crowd during the week, tourists on weekends.

The Details
Room views are impressive from higher floors, looking out over the waterfront. Free video games and airport information are part of the television setups. The Seaport Health Club features full fitness and spa amenities, including personal trainers, skin and nail treatments and massage; it's also highly regarded by Boston residents. The hotel offers a free shuttle to downtown; leave extra time for this option, or for walking; Chances are you'll have to weave through the Big Dig, a major construction project, on your way to see the sights. Staying in? Enjoy the on-site lounge, cafe or American cuisine at Aura Restaurant.

The hotel itself is pretty and in a good location and the staff was very nice as well. However, I was surprised that they charge $18 for the breakfast buffet. With how expensive the hotel is, I would expect at least continental breakfast. The rooms had all the latest technology but the decorations were very bland and not something you would expect from a high end hotel. Overall though, it wasnt so bad. I would probably choose a place that is closer to downtown if you plan on going out in boston.

Pros: Excellent staff, rooms fully stocked, pretty views

Cons: expensive drinks and over priced breakfast, ugly rooms

We went to the Aura restaurant prior to attending the Boston Pavilion concert. The had a preconcert fix price menu for $48 a person. The food was fine. The service was horrible. We were there for 2 hours and had to chase the waiter around the dinning room to get our check. we were late to the concert. I believe we were over charged for wine by the glass and a 20% tip was charged on the bill. Over all not a pleasant experience and no value for the money. I would stay away.
