The Scene – One of Boston's preeminent dives, Dick's gets its fair share of raucous revelers--weekends often host numerous bachelorette parties. This reputation is in stark contrast to the tourists who stop in to take a break from shopping in the surrounding Quincy Market shops. While smart-alecky servers provide plenty of attitude, mismatched chairs and long, communal tables ensure a convivial atmosphere. Social singles populate the elevated bar area to imbibe cheap 32-ounce bottles of domestic beer. – – The Food – The restaurant encourages diners to reconnect with…

- Save Money:
- Appetizers are half-price from 4pm-7pm on weekdays.
- Parking:
- Patrons can park in the 75 State St. parking garage (entrance on Broad St.) and receive $2 off parking with validation.
- Where to Sit:
- Don't be deterred by the rowdy reputation: The sidewalk patio is a surprisingly tranquil spot for enjoying a meal or casual drink.

Recommend it to the people you "dislike".

Not the most favorable experience. I get the theme of being loud and obnoxious but I draw the line at being called an idiot. The meal was terrible, it would be nice to know what ingredients were in the meal I ordered but it's not provided on the menu. I was afraid to ask, might be called an imbecile. Thought I would play it safe with a steak salad but it had jalapeno peppers, which I despise, and they burned my mouth and totally ruined my taste buds for anything else. I would recommend this place to people I "dislike".
Boston's and possibly the world's worst food
by luckyvin at Citysearch
Went to Dick's this afternoon. Sat down for a late lunch at 3:15. Received our food at 4:45. I had the fish platter. After taking a bite of the fried fish, my mouth filled with grease. That was it for me. I couldn't eat another bite. My spouse had the ribs, which were dry and not at all fall off the bone quality. Their prices are way out of line for the quality of their fare. This place is basically a tourist trap with lousy expensive food. Stay away at all costs.
- Pros: none
- Cons: horrible food, very expensive prices for cheap bar fare
Tourist Trap

overpriced beer, inedible food, terrible music, rude/moronic batenders - this place is not a dive bar, it's a tourist trap...
Good fish n' chips and beer, comfortable and loose atmosphere; fun
by bradfordmyles at Citysearch
This is a fun, spacious, entertaining dive in the heart of Boston. Yes, the waiter is a "d-ck" to you throughout the meal, and I suggested we make a hat for him(!) that read "Hi, I'm your waiter, and I'm the biggest D-CK in the house!" -- meaning "butt-wipe a--hole" -- but, that's his job, and it's amusing. The fish and chips were great -- fresh fish, tasty chips. Good portions. Wash it down with some Corona and you're all set. Good live music, no cover charge. Meal and drinks ave about $22 with tip. If you want a relaxed atmosphere to unwind and see some wacky stuff going on -- like a table of girls doing "blo(!)-job shots" to a line of strangers (guys), this is the place. It's pretty funny. Glass windows all around help you feel connected to the city. Cheers.
An Out-of-the-Ordinary Restuarant

First thing you have to know about this place is that it's not your typical restaurant. The waiters and waitresses ties balloons on hair or make huge paper hats for you to wear with lines like, 'I like dicks.' I had three ballons tied on my hair and people on the streets stared at us like we're crazy. And yes, the people who work there SEEMS rude. They would swear and make jokes at you...but all in a funny way. It's very crazy. Fun. I recommend it if you're those type of people that's not afraid to have a good and crazy time. Trust me they will make you laugh no matter what. The food comes in bucket. It's average American food. Large portions. Okay price.
