Food Good, but Employees Rude. Me, my fiance', and a really good friend of ours went here last week and the food was good. When it was time for us to pay the bill, the waiter told us we had to leave a tip. Well duh, we def didn't need him telling us that, and especially not in a rude manner. Never have I had a waiter demand a tip. Otherwise, I would def recommand coming here for non-expensive meal.…
YUCK!!!. I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy. I went here last night for the first time with a friend of mine and my husband. Absolutely despicable. The service is horrendous, I can't with good conscience comment on the food because we left after being there for about 5 minutes. FYI to anyone who will not heed my warning and go anyway, they will NOT take a Massachusetts state ID, regardless of your age. They wouldn't accept my 30 year old husbands, and he doesn't even drink!! They wouldn't even let him stay for food at 9:30pm on a Wednesday. And even this wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't been so rude about it!! My husband was rudely told to go get a passport (who carries around a $100 passport to go out to eat?!) that his ID means nothing to them, and that Massachusetts ID's are a dime a dozen. (I'm assuming she meant they're easy to fake??) Well then, someone should let the state of Massachusetts know that their state ID's are crap, and not accepted at some establishments as a proper form of ID. So why would anyone even get one??? Geez, some people have a Mass ID because they're disabled and CAN'T DRIVE!!! It amazes me that establishments are even legally allowed to not except a perfectly valid state issued form of ID!!!! It seems like discrimination to me. Obviously we will not be going back. Worst of all?? $40 down the drain for a babysitter so we could go out for the first time in 2 months. We drove 30 minutes away in crappy weather, just to be sent away. Yuck.…
Not so cool service.
As I sat waiting for my takeout food in lobby area I witnessed the reception personel ask every non-white person for an ID for credit card purchases and they never asked any of they white people to
show ID. They did this right in front of an African-American man (who went back out to his car to get his ID) and he called them out on it. They said that they were sorry and tried to give him extra fortune cookies, which he declined.
Not Cool Cathay!…
the ribs on the bone are the best. I love their wonton soup. Lunch is a great value. Ribs on the bone are WAY better then the boneless.
Simply Marvelous. The food is delicious, absolutely delicious. Whenever my family visits from out of town, the first place they want to dine at is Cathay in Quincy. I'm sorry to hear about the service that other customers received, but we are always greeted with a smile and good manners. No one beats Cathay's spring rolls (sheer heaven). And not to mention the large portions at a reasonable price. In fact, I think I'll get the family together to dine there this weekend:)…
