In Short – Since 1912, this private skating club has been turning out professional figure skaters like local legend Nancy Kerrigan. Members enjoy figure skating lessons and special skating programs. The rink itself is heated and prides itself on its "four-star" concession stand. Men interested in joining a hockey league should call for more information. There is public skating here too. – –

Nice, overpriced rink

Skating here on Tuesdays is fun & a good time to practice: it is an over 18 night, with very few attendees. Plus, the rink is quite warm, so you can skate in a tee-shirt if you want; and the ice is good most of the time. Beware, however: you are _forced_ to listen to dull organ music (same exact songs every Tuesday), as ipods are not permitted! Moreover, they usually call 4 triples and 4 doubles a night, meaning a single skater loses about 30 minutes of ice time so 2 couples or 1 'triple' can skate. It is extremely annoying, esp as they charge almost double what other rinks do.

I wouldn't skate any other time, however. Saturdays is a rip off : $7 to be on the ice with a bunch of kids & people being coached. For an hour and a half! Please.

Also, the lessons are no good. Take them at Sheryl Frank's or Bay State Skating School instead: a place where the teachers are over 15, and actually try to teach. The Skating School charges a high rate for worthless instruction. Also, they have way too many groups on the ice and the practice area is a joke: 2 feet shared with a bunch of kids.
