Prime South End spot for sipping cocktails or brunching well. Since Stephanie Sokolove expanded her empire from the chic Stephanie’s on Newbury in Back Bay to this more casual (and dog-friendly!) location, the latter has become a neighborhood essential. The spacious, sunlit dining room is awash in modern decor and splashes of color (which, along with the jazz playing in the background, sets the casual vibe). Barflies, no fear: Grab a plush stool and order from their extensive cocktail list, and simply dine from your perch without when the hunger hits. Of course, there's the Stephi's signature: a crucial people-watching patio, which draws plenty of enthusiastic diners. If you're lucky, stake out an outdoors spot for a sunny brunch.
New hot spot in town. We went as a group of four to Stephi's a month or so after it opened, and I had a good time considering the wait was extremely long (over an hour and a half for a table). Also, I ordered an asian salad which came with pan seared tuna which was just a hair on the fishy-tasting side. Other than that, the food was very good, especially dessert. And the washrooms were quite nice.
Very nice atmosphere, great decor, and delicious dessert!. Went with a friend to Stephi's on Tremont on its opening night for a glass of wine and dessert. The wine selection was great and the dessert was unbelievable! We shared the brownie bread pudding and it was sinfully delicious! The best combination of chocolate and vanilla creamy goodness. The menu also included some very fun mixed drink options. Our server was highly attentive and friendly, but not at all overbearing. The management was equally accommodating and warm. The decor was modern and funky and at the same time cozy. There is a lovely dining room area separated by a half wall from the gorgeous bar area. We sat in one of two cozy booths that are along the windows by the bar. A private dining area is in the back of the restaurant that looks almost like an elegant home. Would make for a great private party location. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back!
Editorial Review. Namesake Stephanie Sokolove's neighborhood eatery slings chic, comfy favorites like mac 'n' cheese and lobster shepherd's pie in South End.
