Editorial Review for Joshua Tree Bar & Grill – by Citysearch Staff
The Scene
With its numerous TVs and dozens of food and drink options, the Joshua Tree is a dependable all-purpose hangout. A mostly young, casually dressed crowd surrounds the bar to sample from its impressive beer list (more than 20 on tap, 10 by the bottle). Drink options also include designer martinis and seasonal cocktails. Young, black-clad waitresses are wont to forget a drink refill, especially when the room is packed for a big game.
The Draw
Davis Square's top sports bar transforms into a casual dance spot on weekends, when a DJ spins top-40 tunes deep into the night. When the weather allows, the front windows open onto the street, allowing for breezy people-watching opportunities. The lengthy menu runs the gamut from shareable appetizers (Cajun catfish bites, blackened chicken quesadillas) to full entrees (seafood fra diabolo, baby back ribs, sizzling fajita platters). Half-pound burgers and hickory BBQ wings prove popular at the bar.

Some friends and I went to the Joshua Tree after work this evening and had a rather unpleasant experience. There were nine of us crammed into a six person table (which was our choice) and we had racked up a $127 bill of drinks and appetizers, when we were asked to leave and free up the table for people coming in for dinner. I would somewhat understand this if the restaurant were full, but there were three other accomodating tables available. We asked if we could move to one of the other tables and the waitress said no. We left after speaking with the manager who decided that a $25 gift certificate was sufficient compensation for being asked to leave her restaurant for being good customers. I know it sounds ridiculous, but this actually happened less than 3 hours ago and I wanted to share while it was still fresh in my mind.

Gone to Joshua Tree once. I can't not write this it is so gross...Hair in my food and a big insect (for some reason the website won't let me tell which kind...but a kind you don't want) in the booth i was sitting in. Crawling right next to my head. Manager just asked me if I wanted to move to another table. DISGUSTING!!! I will never go back there. That place is dirty!
