a fun dive bar. courtside wouldn't be notable except for the fun karaoke nights. it's everything cheesy you expect with karaoke including the regulars who are characters!

trivia. we have been going to Tuesday night trivia on almost a regular basis. it's usually a great time bit lately the bartenders have been more interested in socializing or are just way too slow getting drinks and you miss the questions trying to go up and get a round. I miss the blonde bartender who always knew what you wanted and got it fast so it wouldn't interfere with the game.

not quite what you'd expect. If they are known for karaoke then why isn't there a stage of some sort? In fairness I'm giving it a thumbs down because our expectations were actually high. It was more than a let down it's pretty much like every dive karaoke bar you've been to. The host rolled in his system and a bunch of old guys sang sinatra or hair metal. Our group was the youngest and although it is definitely nice to not feel completely over the hill in Boston at 30, I would think the scene would have been more happening. My friend read about it in improper and it was made out to be a bit more of a party than it is. Although the reviews on the food is dead-on! I would so go back for that calzone but it's way to far out in cambridge to plan a repeat trip.

Best Karaoke Audience. I stubbled upon Courtside by accident during the day. The owner suggested I go back for karaoke that night. A few weeks later with nothing to do i gathered a few friends and decided to try this place out.

I had never done karaoke, but friends got me up there. I've been going pretty much every Friday since, that was a year ago. The regulars (I guess I qualify) are as friendly as can be and will get up to dance for any song with a beat, and cheer enthusiastically to even the most tone-deaf of singers.

Very mixed crowd, from twenty-somethings, like myself looking, for the alternative to the meat market club... to the sixty-something guy looking to belt out some Sinatra.

I love this place!

Not recommended at all. I cam here with the intent of doing some karaoke. After waiting two hours without singing, we were not given the opportunity to sing. Meanwhile, the KJ was letting his friends sing multiple times. From what I understand, their KJs accept bribes from guests wishing to sing more often or sooner.

I'm a karaoke veteran and have done karaoke at many place. Courtside is definitely the most unaccomadating place I've ever attended. For a place that considers themselves a karaoke bar, they don't have a high level of professionalism in that department. I wasn't about to slip the KJ a $20 so I could sing.

The drinks were mediocre, and the non-karaoke section of the bar wasn't great. Rap music blared to the point where you had to shout your drink order to the bartender and if you're lucky -- they JUST might get it right.

East Cambridge hangout provides one of the area's top spots for game watching and karaoke.. In Short
With plenty of TVs and food specials, the Courtside provides a solid spot to watch multiple games at once. (During NFL season, free pizza and meatballs are put out during games.) When the games are through, the Courtside doubles as one of the area's best spots for armchair performers--karaoke starts at 8pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Standard pub fare (nachos, burgers, steak tips) are offered at all hours.
