We love Nomad!.
I've been a fan of Nomad for many years, especially when it was on Newbury St. where I was a regular back in the 90's. Now my family has grown and I've moved to Cambridge, delighted to find that my favorite store is still an exciting retail venue. My daughter and I recently made a trip there and were delighted with our purchases. Nomad's merchandise is fairly traded, from artisans and co-ops all around the world, as well as a strong showing of local designers of jewelry and clothing. We happened to pop in when there was a trunk show featuring a local jeweler. The store is inspirational, the staff super nice...it's a wonderful shopping experience.

beautiful and unique objects, clothing and jewelry.
Nomad has an amazing selection of all sorts of merchandise, from inexpensive Mexican tin ornaments to lovely (and expensive!) African handcarved stools and beautiful handmade jewelry. They have gorgeous clothes and even carry Cydwoq shoes (hard to find in Boston...). Every time I visit I see a million things I love, but the staff is lukewarm at best and feeling unwelcome makes me hesitant to support this store. They *do* carry things you won't find anywhere else, though, and it's a great place to buy gifts.
