Horrible Service!. As a person who is Greek, I enjoy eating authentic Greek food from time to time. My family has been going to the Greek Corner in Cambridge MA for many years for family get togethers and birthday parties, etc. My wife and I decided to go out to the Greek Corner for lunch...boy was that a mistake!

Here is a list of issues that I had:

1. The service WAS HORRIBLE!

The waitress that served us took about 10 minutes to take our order (we went at 1:30 in the afternoon and we were the ONLY people eating a later lunch!).

2. Horrible Food:

After she took our order the pita that came with our sampler was not Greek pita but Syrian pita and the grape leaves, were not home cooked and clearly came out of a can. I got a Greek salad and asked for no onions and what I got was a salad with onions. Then salad came back and it was clear that they picked it out (I could have used my clean hands to pick it myself, normally good resturants will remake a dish if it was done wrong).

3. Again bad Service:

We then waited to get a drink refill (our waitress never came back!) and I had to go up to the front counter and ask for a refill. Meanwhile our waitress never returned to apologize or ask us if we wanted another drink, coffee or desert. We then waited again to get our check and then finally walked up to the front to pay. Our waitress was sitting at the front talking on the phone and was "too busy" to be bothered to do her job!

Yes, I did not leave a tip, tips are earned, not given out to people who are not nice and do not provide good service.

Anyone who wants authentic Greek food cooked BY GREEKS, then take a small drive down to Norwood MA and try the Feisty Greek, if they were in Cambridge they could give the Greek Corner a run for their money!

Amazing Gyros!. Their gyros are awesome!! I wish I could write a review about more of their food, but the gyros are so good, I can't help but order one every time I go!

GREAT food (Hey, have you seen our waitress?). Best Greek food you can get in the Boston area, hands down. But... I suggest the take out, or go on a slow night. When it is a busy night, which is almost always, there are only two girls working the tables. Not enough for all the patrons and to serve them all while socializing with all their friends. Your lucky if you get all your food and drinks together. Forget refills. There is always a young guy (waiter/bu boy?) that is usually just standing around not doing anything that could be helping. Typical male chauvinism (see My Big Fat Greek Wedding). Perhaps its the owners kid. Waitresses are overworked by all the tables and taking care of all the take out orders at the counter, but when it is slow, the waitresses rather chit chat than wonder if you need more water. Well, I have only gone to the Mass Ave. location, not the one in Harvard Sq.

Do the take out, perhaps try sit down on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon when you are one of only a few tables.

The last of the true family restaurants. Family-style dining is becoming extinct, as prices have climbed steadily at casual restaurants in our area. The Greek Corner is still a fabulous value, with reliable and delicious meals. Their gyro is hands down the best you

can find around Boston, the pastisto and spinach pie impressive, and

the appetizers are outstanding. Sometimes the service is slow on a

weekend evening, but that would be my only (slight) negative.

Go and enjoy!

With its fresh, affordable dishes, this casual Greek eatery is a favorite among Cambridge residents.. In Short
Though there's little atmosphere and nothing trendy about the décor, the Greek Corner maintains a loyal, local following. The straightforward menu reads like a who's-who of Greek-American fare; popular items include char-grilled kebabs, spinach pie, fried calamari and stuffed grape leaves. Those in a hurry can grab a gyro sandwich to go.
