We used the option of rent furniture
with Cort. They took like a week to deliver. During that time I slept on the floor, on a inflable mattress. But that was not a problem at all for me.
Then they finally delivered. A couple of days later I started to get some allergic looking signs. I didn't know what it is. With time I realise and learned about it. I had bed bugs in my bed. I followed some recomendations, like cleaning all my clothes with hot water and using the dryer at high temoeratures, and then putting the stuff on zipploc bags.
The point is, as I talked to Cort, they took like a week to react and then they sayed, I have to pay them 500 dollar, and thye will come AFTER I show a certification that fumigation was done.
I think this is abusive of their part. I didn't have problems sleeping on the floor. It is evident the bed bugs came in the bed provided by Cort. I don't see why I have to pay them this 500 dollars, and additionally pay for the fumigation, which is approx. 1200 dollars.
Please do not use their furniture rental service!!
AVOID. AVOID. DO NOT do business with this company. It's short term rental, so they know people need flexibility and ensure not to give it. Their business model is turn over the furniture while keeping customers in max leases to make more profit but keep billing. "Screw the consumer" is their policy. I'm sure it is very profiable. When people feel they have no choice because they need a "bed", Cort is ready to take advantage! Bed and a dresser was over $150/month, but they have a minimum of $175 so you pay for a king mattress for them with every contract. Billing staff is unprofessional and lacks any authority so don't waste your time. Buy a bed instead and sleep on a blow up mattress for a week while you wait for it. It will save you $500+ including the mattress cost!!
