Perfect Hole in the Wall.
Falafel, Schwarma, Grape Leaves, Lentil Soup . . .
I could keep naming the things thar are awsome here.
The staff is great, the food is great and the prices are great.
Open until 3 am.
Just great.
Sandwich and a smile. Now, I hesitated reviewing Falafel Palace because I've only been there once....but I was delighted by my first visit and decided to go for it. Plus, I can amend a review, right? My first visit to Falafel Palace was a little worrisome. It was 2:55am (they close at 3) and the line was nearly out the door. Would I get to the counter in time? Gasp! I did indeed, and though they were only offering the vegetarian wraps at the time, it was no bother to me as I was going with the falafel and hummus wrap anyway. One other bummer: the credit card machine was down, so I had to make a quick decision about whether to have the added cost of hummus on my falafel, lest I not have enough cash for my cab ride. The two men behind the counter were great - joking and smiling - even though it was 5 minutes before closing time and they surely wanted to be done for the night. The sandwich was delicious (and I'm sure I'm not just saying this because I was starving at 3am); I don't think I said more than 3 words to my friends on the cab ride home -- and the words were likely "mmmm," "falafel," "goooooood." I think my new late night grub spot is now Falafel Palace. Sorry, Hi -Fi!
Editorial Review. This bustling, hole-in-the-wall late-night savior (charmingly anything but palatial) churns out cheap, delicious falafel, shwarma, tabbouleh and Middle Eastern snacks.
FP. i agree with the last review- the service is inconsistent, but only in terms of attitude. The falafel and foul modammous simply wreck all competition within and around Boston. I don't eat shaved animal flesh, so I can't say as much about the Shawarma. ..but this place is always hoppin' late night, and they have interesting pictures and play peculiar music from far away lands.
not enough Tahini.
Most of the time I go and get a sandwich from this place, there isn't enough sauce on it... and when I ask for a little extra... I've been scowled at...
Its okay though.. I still liked the sandwich.
I definitely recommend falafel palace... because its quaint and the food is good.
good, cheap falafel. Great value! I lived in the area for a while before I tried this place because it looks pretty sketchy, but it's a great find. The falafel is good and it's very inexpensive. The only con is that there is very limited seating, so take-out is your best bet and there is usually a line at peak times.
Cheap Middle Eastern. A good place to go when you're on a budget. The falafel sandwich is 3.50 and the platter is under $6. Don't expect amenities - it's cold, cramped, and the walls are covered with gaudy art - but - the food is good.
