In Short – Set in a large and handsome second-floor room, Tandoor House feels somewhat removed from the hubbub of Central Square. Local students and young professionals fill the restaurant to share stories over steaming bowls of curries. The namesake oven reigns supreme, and the menu features items from several regions of India. Plenty of vegetarian options are available, with an emphasis on eggplant and potatoes.

this was the first place i ever had indian food. i had an excellent murg vindaloo, and the chicken was so hot and spicy it gave me a headache and i swore i'd never go back. of course, a week later i found myself craving it like mad. so good! great atmosphere, good intimate, cozy date spot, filled with lots of grad students and funky harvard kids.
