Amazing hidden gem. I just held a bridal shower in their semi-private room. It was amazing, although the coordinator of the event left something to be desired. There is plenty of street parking, as well as valet for only $7. Price for food is reasonable, the room in the back is perfect for about 30 guests if you're going to be having presents. If you need a cake, the chef there is AMAZING!! It sounds a bit costly, but it is unbelievable, there was sugar sculpture, it was beautiful. Really let them do whatever they want, we gave a theme of red and couldn't have imagined something this amazing.
The Hotel @ MIT's house restaurant serves contemporary American fare in style..
In Short
Hungry hotel guests decline nearby Central Square's numerous offerings and instead decamp to Sidney's airy dining room. Sights and smells emanate from the exposed kitchen. While an in-house smoker and applewood grill produce meat dishes, fresh fish is also given its due (poached halibut is served with artichokes, nicoise olives and sun-dried peppers). Homemade desserts include mocha crunch cake and a cinnamon gelato pretzel pie.
PowerLunch and PowerBrkfst packs a punch!. Obviously a comfort zone for groups of co-workers... you can feel the vibe of deals going down during these meals. Service was respectful and prompt... food great! Not firsthand knowledge, but when martinis are being served at lunch, you know you're in a hot spot!
A++ Dinner at Sidney's. We had heard that there was a new chef - Stephano Zimei at Sidney's Grille so we decided to check it out for dinner. We were i the mood for seafood although the steak was tempting. The clam chowder was fantastic, as were our salmon and lobster entrees. We left a little room for dessert and split the banana split. Decadent -- and with homemade icecream. After dinner we stopped to have a drink in the bar which was lively. The Tech-Tini was delicious -- and appropriatly named for the neighborhood. We can't wait to try out Brunch.
A Hidden Gem in Cambridge!. Sidney's Chef Lambrechts has trained all over the world, and this is clearly evidenced by the subtle international flavors in even his most classic of American Cuisines. The entire menu at Sidney's is reasonably priced, the wine selection is ample, and the ambience is excellent. The only downside is that fewer people know about this wonderful restaurant. Located in the Hotel@MIT in Central Square, Cambridge.
