The Scene – Patrons can usually spot this restaurant by looking for the families waiting on the sidewalk, counting down the minutes until they devour enough meat to warrant a trip to the cardiologist. Popular with the area's close-knit Portuguese and Brazilian communities, the twin restaurant features dining rooms with a festive, multiethnic vibe--and soothing live Brazilian music--nightly. – – The Food – Those familiar with the Midwest Grill's all-you-can-eat rodizio format know to bring a hearty appetite while leaving the vegetarians at home. Used to be great, now, just dissapointing

I've been to Midwest Grill on several occasions (and numerous churrascarias throughout the US and in Brazil). At Midwest grill, it seems that the quality of meat keep getting worse and the attitude of management and owner is even poorer. The meat had a fair amount of fat and gristle. The salad bar had noticeably fewer options than on previous visits. On my most recent trip my party was charged for refills of ice tea and soda. When the refills were ordered there was no mention from the server that there would be any charge for the additional beverages. They pull the same trick on dessert as well. Upon getting the bill and seeing the extra charges, the waitress attempted to assist by asking the manager who then offered to take one round of refills off the bill. However, the owner then came by an insisted that ALL restaurants charge for ice tea and soda refills and that the charges must stay on the bill.
The sirloin and pork loin were excellent. The chicken was dry. We had to ask five times to get garlic bread.
For future ventures for mass quantities of meat, I will take my business to one of the other Brazilian restaurants in the Somerville area.
- Pros: excellent sirloin and porkloin
- Cons: rude owner,poor meat quality;no refills;inconsistent service

Come hungry.

Come hungry. That?s the best advice to prepare for this all-you-can-eat Brazilian feast called a Churrasco a Rodizio, which means rotating barbecue. The meal starts with an unlimited salad bar overflowing with more choices than you can count, including delicious roasted potatoes, rice, plantains, a dazzling array of salads, olives, spicy tuna and feijoada black bean stew. But that?s just the appetizer. What comes next is an endless procession of mouth watering grilled meats which waiters bring on sword-like skewers and slice at your table. Among the highlights are grilled Brazilian sausage, tender flavorful short beef ribs, lamb marinated in wine vinegar and garlic, juicy boneless chicken breast, and their famous roasted whole pork loin. Non-meat eaters can enjoy the fish stews: shrimp or the catch-of-the day sauteed in garlic, then simmered with chunks of tomato and casava root with coconut milk. And vegetarians will love the salad bar. Money-saving tip: come for lunch, it?s the same meal at a fraction of the cost.
