The Scene
Located in Inman Square, this Cambridge institution has been attracting hordes of hungry diners since it first opened back in 1919. With its bright and cheery decor and easily wiped tables this is a great place to take kids. S&S Deli boasts a loyal take out clientele who zip in and out of the restaurant with amazing speed.
The Food
The knockwurst broadens the horizons of hot dog lovers and old-timers swear by the blintzes. Although there's no kids menu, most of the food could be found on one. Lots of snacky foods and deli items including chicken soup and other nursery eats keep the young ones happy. Kids especially love the (underdone) french fries.

Their other food options, sandwiches, pasta, etc. are fine. But brunch is definitely worth any wait. They offer great portions with delicious food. In the fall they have pumpkin spice pancakes, which are so good! The service is usually ok, thought during brunch the servers are extremely busy. During that time, you may have to wait a little longer than usual for drink refills, etc.-- but it is still worth it.

This place is the worst!! If you've ever been to Rein's Deli in CT you're quite mistaken if you think your embarking on the same venture. They may have the same look and feel (sort of), but the food is subpar. I only ordered the pastrami sandwich- which is the staple of any great Deli. It was literally the worst sandwich I have ever had!! The marble rye bread came thinly sliced and not toasted or grilled? How is this supposed to support the fattiest pastrami ever served?? Well lets just say it didn't. Immediately upon trying to pick it up- the bread so soaken completely fell apart. It was merely hanging on by a thread w/ the one small piece of swiss cheese that wasn't even melted! Save your time and money and the next time you're in CT experience what a real deli should be like.
