From silent Soviet films to Buster Keaton classics, the Harvard Film Archive is devoted to bringing the public "gourmet" movies. – In Short
Since its inception in the '70s, the Archive's goal has always been to screen films that represent cinema as an art form. Because the Archive also caters to Harvard's academic departments, the first three days of the week are put aside for films assigned in Harvard courses; Thursdays are reserved for occasional "Special Events," where invited filmmakers or scholars lead a post-screening discussion; weekends are dedicated to larger, usually more contemporary cinema.
