Best Haircut for 55.00 :). I happened upon Ginos while visiting Harvard.I called a friend and asked about the place.I was told it was a stuffy over priced place and had terrible service....Me being me I decided to try it out. My stylist was Dougie, what a fascinating person. He has his own place in Provincetown Mass and told me funny stories about it.I plan to visit there next year.He was charming informative and detail oriented...I was amazed by his knowledge in Real Estate/antiques and investments. I was quit pleased by all of his advice concerning my hair and products I should use to attain the look I Want..Thank you so much.I will say that The Woman at the desk was not very polite and seemed mad.
IF YOU WANT A BAD HAIRCUT GO HERE.
If you want to go to a hair salon where you feel like you are a mere numbered customer liken to an experience at the DMV go to Ginos. I spent $80 and received the second worst haircut of my life and had the worst experience at a salon. I came to Ginos for a simple trim and thinning of my thick straight hair to avoid the "cheese wedge" look. What i got was more of a cheese wedge and less of a trim. Then i cam back a week later to give the stylist a second chance. She spent ~5 minutes correcting my hair and in the process gave me side bangs! Then i was passed to an assistant who washed and dried my hair. The assistant spent over 20 minutes drying my hair straight and flat, not what i expressed. By the end of the blow-dry i felt like my scalp was burned and was sweating as if i had been to the gym. I went downstairs and my hair was still very heavy in one section. I asked for it to be thinned out slightly without removing the length. The stylist stated that i liked my hair pretty thinned out. I was shocked, i do not like my hair thin, just even throughout a layered cut. She proceeded to thin the ends of my hair, and anyone who has thick hair knows that when the ends are thinned the "cheese wedge" look is achieved. I am gravely disappointed with my hair and am even more depressed that this haircut will be immortalized in pictures this weekend as my master's graduation is this weekend.
BOTTOM LINE - IF YOU WANT A BAD HAIRCUT WHERE YOU FEEL LIKE A NUMBER IN THE DMV LINE, OR BE PASSED TO AN ASSISTANT AND HAVE THE STYLIST TO DO THE EXACT OPPOSITE THAT YOU WANT GO TO GINOS. JUST MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT IN ANY PICTURES AFTERWARDS.
I WOULD NOT GO BACK TO GINOS IF THEY PAID ME.
so great. I had my highlights done at Gino's ,all I can say is that they came out so great .It has been so hard to find a stylist that can achieve a natural look. This was the first time my hair didn't come out looking orange . I will be returning and can't wait.
15 minutes for $95? The most dissatisfying hair experience ever. Maybe it was my own mistake: I was cutting off my long hair in favor of a short, chic, hip haircut, and decided a nice salon would be a good bet... WRONG. This might be the place for you if you're 45 and looking for an expensive soccer mom haircut, but not if you're 23 and wanting something that looks edgy and chic. The shampoo girl was crass and did not give me a scalp massage (I'd expect that from a $45 haircut, let alone $95) then my stylist let the shampoo girl chop off all my hair while half the stylists in the place had a panic attack about it and stopped her so she didn't screw it up. It took my stylist a grand total of 15 minutes to cut my hair. I was very specific and brought pictures showing a front, side and back angle of the haircut I wanted. It was something that would have required WAY more scissor work than the 15 minutes she took. The cut was way too bulky and generally unattractive, but when I asked her to pare it down a bit she said it would look better the way she had cut it. She also did not style my hair for me, recommend any products to create the look I was going for, and then rudley refused to let me tip on my credit card. They also charged me $20 more than I had been originally quoted. Needless to say, I went to see another, less expensive stylist who spent 45 minutes carefully fixing the disaster I had been left with. I only wish one could "return" a haircut and get my money back. Gino's is a definite NO in my book. I've never been so dissatisfied.
Rude staff, bad haircut!. Avoid this place, very rude staff, disappointing haircut! Very expensive, for the price they charge better go to Newbury St.!!!
Best Salon in Boston. After years of having the same hairstyle and haircolor, I decided it was time for a change. As many women know, parting from a long time hairstylist can be quite a "risky" decision. But, I decided I was ready for a "new me" and I knew that if I went back to my longtime hairstylist, I would just walk out of there with the same old look. So, after much research and web surfing, I decided I would give Gino's a shot. Boy, am I glad I did!!! I have gotten a compliment almost everyday on my new look. Giuliana, Gino's daughter, did a fabulous job and I would highly reccommend her to anyone looking for a great new look that's both chic and comtemporary. Not only was the haircut incredible, but the service and cleanliness of this salon were unlike anything I had ever experienced from a hair salon. I was offered coffee or tea while waiting for Giuliana and at the end of my visit, the kind woman at the desk helped me find just the right products to keep my hair looking great everyday. I even made my next appointment before I left, that's how impressed I was. I know that this is where I'll be going in the future!!
User review by logical76. I've been a customer going to Gino hair salon for about 2 Years. My experiences there have always been pleasant, enjoyable, relaxing and outstanding. It is one of Boston's most exceptional salon. I have my hair styled by Lucette. She's an excellent colorist and cutter. One who is passionate and knowledgeable about products and proper hair care. I'm extremely fascinated by various cutting technics she continuously uses to keep me coming back for more. For those of you who are looking for a compatible proffesional go and ask to see Lucette at Ginos.

You want syle.... I have been a customer of Ginos for years and can truly say that it is the best. I have tried other salons (unfortunately) and have not had the same experience or results. Each and every time I leave Ginos, my hair is AMAZING!!! I feel each visit is a new experience and look forward to returning!!!
Best Stylist in Boston. I have been going to Gino's for years, and every time I leave there I couldnt be any happier with my hair. Gulianna is the best hair stylist in Boston and she really knows how to make her clients look beautiful. After I get my hair done I receive numerous compliments on how awesome my hair is which is all credited to the professionalism at Gino's.
