HAIR IS THEIR MIDDLE NAME. Be forewarned: this is NOT your run-of-the-mill hair salon! If you are looking for a place to get a great haircut in the Cambridge area these are your guys. The shop itself has a fun atmosphere that reflects the personalities of the owners Dale and Rob, hence the name D (for Dale) H (for Hair) (R for Rob). You could say I am biased but it would be in the best possible way. Dale's been coloring/cutting my hair from way before he ever owned DHR which amounts to 20+ years. In addition to being very conscientious and skilled at their craft, Dale and Rob are really nice and down to earth and DHR is a breath of fresh air from the houghty-toughty hair salon experience I escaped from some 20 years ago...

Forget Newbury St! The best stylists in Greater Boston!. A wonderful, friendly, family-run salon. Dale and Robb have been cutting and styling my hair in Harvard Square for over 16 years. The salon is unpretentiously funky and cool, and the prices for services and Aveda products are super affordable. In fact, I don't think their service prices have increased in 10 years, and Aveda products are priced much lower here than anywhere else -- which is amazing considering they're in the heart of Harvard Square. Both are extremely professional and knowledgeable, and do a perfect job every time. They really care about their clients. I love my cut and I won't go anywhere else for my hair!

Great salon with great attention!. This salon is a gem and if you're looking for a great cut, this is the place to go. These two guys are great and put a lot of care and attention into each cut. This is not, however, one of those pretetious salons like on Newbury Street. In fact, the decorating here is decidedly different, with Star Trek collectibles all over the place, but don't let that fool you -- these guys know what they're doing. I wasted three years going to the Salons on Newbury but I will never go anyplace other than DHR again. My only quibble might be that the cuts can take a while. However, these guys are pleasant and funny and I've enjoyed every visit I've made.

a hidden gem and funky salon without the pretense. I've been going to Dale at DHR since 1990 and can't recommend them enough. If you're looking for a good, affordable haircut in Cambridge/Boston, without the pretense you find in so many salons, this is the place.

DHR Delivers. Dale and Rob excel as stylists who deliver professional haircare with flair! I've been consistently pleased with my fabulous color and cut for the past 2 years. DHR is definitely a glittering jewel in Harvard Square.

Attentive Stylists. Stylist Dale listened to my request very carefully and did exactly what I had requested. Dale is laid-back but professional, and has been in the trade for 14 years. He has an enthnically well-diversified clientele. For my fellow Asian brothers and sisters, he is a great guy to go for a great hair-cut!

no complaints.... I have been going to DHR regularly for the last year, and I have been invariably pleased with the results.
