Editorial Review for Harvard Coop – by Citysearch Staff
The Scene
The Coop is for those who go to Harvard, and those who wish they went Harvard. The establishment is divided into two parts: the Harvard Square building, which carries books (reminiscent of a Barnes and Noble), and the Palmer/Brattle building, which offers gifts and supplies.
The Goods
Sweatshirts and T-shirts aren't cheap. In fact, you don't have to be an economics major to realize there are better deals elsewhere. The bookstore has all the books you'd expect, at the normal prices, along with a cafe on the second floor. The Palmer/Brattle building has anything ever printed with the Harvard logo, along with basic student needs like posters, school supplies, board games and shot glasses. And mugs. Lots and lots of mugs and glasses.

My adult daughter - USC Alumni and I - 9th grade education but always employed went here on a recent day trip to Cambridge. The book store was the most interesting to us and I think well worth the trip. We're from Los Angeles so logos don't mean much to us. Every gangster wears a Lakers shirt here so the abundance of Harvard Log stuff was a bit boring.
Pros: If you love cutting edge educational books, this is your place!
Cons: Several stories of stairs to run up and down
