What People Are Saying About Le's - Cambridge

In Short – Many first-time customers of Le's (formerly known as Pho Pasteur) make the mistake of ordering too many dishes, as most entrees are large enough for two. Straightforward pho (noodle soups) prove popular, and the adventurous have many interesting dishes (caramelized catfish, fresh squid with scallions) to choose from. Bowls of vermicelli, topped with grilled meats, shredded lettuce, mint and roasted peanuts, are meals in themselves. Traditional desserts include chilled Asian fruits and creamy rice pudding.
New Dinner Special: Bacteria-Infused Pho!!

Would you eat at a restaurant if you knew that the employees who handled your food went to the bathroom and didn't follow proper hygiene codes?
I wouldn't, and I won't be going to Le's anymore.
I've been there twice, most recently the night of January 20th with my girlfriend. I have no complaints about the food itself, nor the value--the special bowl with beef is delicious, as are the spring rolls.
After the meal, I went to the bathroom in order to relieve myself. It happened that two workers (I couldn't tell if they were cooks or waiters) came into the bathroom soon after I entered.
As an aside, the reason I was able to identify them was because of the small crack in the stall between the door and the divider. Also, the stall was connected to the ceiling rather than the floor, so I could see their feet. Alright, I know it might be creepy to spy on people from a toilet stall, but aren't you glad I did??? OK, back to the review
I knew they were employees because they wore white shirts, black slacks, and most obvious, were wearing plain black sneakers, the kind without logos that you see minimum wage employees wear at restaurants, grocery stores, and other service-oriented businesses.
Anyways, one of the guys went up to the urinal, quickly took a piss, and left without washing his hands. The other guy had come into the bathroom simply to wash his face--nothing against him, it's his buddy that concerns me.
To exacerbate the grossness of this situation, as I was washing up by the sink, a waiter walked into the bathroom and used the urinal. This wouldn't concern me, but for the fact he was still wearing his apron. Aren't you supposed to take those things off before you start spouting liquid waste out of your you-know-what?
I left Le's disgusted, though I didn't inform the manager--seldom does registering a complaint with the management actually work. Rather, I will leave it to my fellow Yelpers to inflict my wrath, because no one wants to eat at an establishment that features urine-flavored food. Happy eating, and stay away.
lousy service; so-so food

if you want a pleasant evening, don't come to this place; soup was lukewarm, waiter had to be reminded to give us our utensils; food was average - go somewhere!
Overrated Vietnamese Food

This restaurant is overrated. The pho is terrible and the other dishes are not very good either. It is very standard, but I guess you can't get much else in Cambridge. The prices are very expensive for Vietnamese. If you want pho, I would definitely recommend going outside of Cambridge. There are pockets of Boston that have wonderful small Vietnamese restaurants that are much more affordable.

One in China town is owesome. Flavorfull, cheaper, quick service but not romantic.
One in Harvard Sq. is too bad. So rude waiters. He didn't say even one word since I got a table. Did I do something wrong? Plus food isn't good. Just OK but doesn't worth to pay that price. Soup was lukewarm, some potatoes in soup wasn't done well. I never go back Harvard sq, but I love to repeat Chaina town.
Awesome find.

This is a great restaurant. Good service and delicious food. I do have to admit that the parking situation is not wonderful...trying to find a spot along the street can be tough at certain times in this area. But, absolutely worth the hassel.
- Pros: Great food, Inexpensive, Quick seating/service
- Cons: Parking
