In Short – Located on the edge of Harvard Square, this Hi-Rise location offers most of the same award-winning sandwiches and breads served at the main Concord Ave. location. Inside the tiny storefront, there's hardly enough room for more than a few patrons to stand. When the weather's nice, the shady outdoor patio fills up with local families and academics, many of whom enjoy fresh-squeezed lemonade and moist gingerbread.
Poor customer service, but good food
by boston_gg
As good as the food is, I no longer go to Hi-Rise. I live down the street and will only have their food if my girlfriend picks it up. The staff is typically rude. Several friends say the same thing, but will look past the poor service for the food.
- Pros: Good Food
- Cons: Very poor service
Fantastic food, too bad the service stinks
by fuggedaboutit
The food is so good here that I force myself to overlook the snappy servers. They often seem to be forcing themselves to not roll their eyes when I ask a question about the (complicated!!) menu. That said, the egg, avocado, and cheese sandwich is one of the best things I've ever eaten. I share it often with a friend!
Good sandwich and patio
by experiencer
Hi-Rise is a great place to meet a friend for a casual lunch out on the patio. The sandwiches are delicious and are served in generous proportions. Although the sandwich was plenty of food for me, it would have been nice to have been served with a side of chips and a pickle or such. Staff was forward and abrasive putting a slight kink in the beautiful atmosphere.
- Pros: Patio, Food
- Cons: Parking, Abrasive staff
