Tattoo-inspired lifestyle brand clads West Coast-y partiers.. Long before Jon Gosselin became the impromptu poster boy for the Ed Hardy brand, Christian Audigier’s ready-to-wear line was sported by celebs like Britney Spears, Madonna and even Hulk Hogan. Ed Hardy’s selection of street-inspired designer tees cemented the trend, with hard rocking slogans like Loves Kills Slowly and Til True Death. The Newbury Street store is decked out in the brand’s over-the-top signature look, with the tattoo-inspired designs spreading beyond the clothing and onto the carpet and walls. Racks and tables crowded with a plethora of bedazzled streetwear styles evoke a neo-grunge SoCal-feel rarely found in Boston. Don’t let the unassuming size of this store fool you--it may be small for a flagship, but there are plenty of club-ready outfits to be found, or simply a sparkling tee to pair with your favorite jeans. Beware: The store’s high density of merchandise feels like a tattoo sleeve that has finally run out of space.
Editorial Review. Christian Audigier's tattoo-inspired L.A. hit-brand Ed Hardy sprawls its laidback lifestyle at this boutique.
