Great Value. I really enjoy The Stockyard. The food is good, the prices are right and the portions are big. The atmosphere is very enjoyable as well. I have had a few experiences with the service being slow.

Delicious Prime Rib. I love the Stockyard. I went with my girlfriend one night and while we were waiting to be seated, we had a few drinks at the bar and some appetizers. The bartender was a really cool, funny guy and the clam chowder was really good. When we were seated, I ordered the prime rib, my girlfriend got the filet mignon. Her filet was cooked perfectly and she really enjoyed it. My prime rib was fantastic; it was huge and cooked perfectly. It was so good that I was literally laughing as I ate it. I will definitely visit again soon; great meats.

unbeatable for the price. the stockyard can grow on you and become your favorite restaurant in boston. one reason is that it has the friendliest and the best bartenders in boston. what a great crew. second the food. the prime rib and filet mignon simply can't be beat for the price. you have to pay twice at least for the same quality in the upscale steakhouses in boston and you will get half the quality anywhere else for the stockyard price. i don't believe how good the steaks are. the burgers are a great deal. the sliders are to die for. the lobster pie (and lobster roll) are special. my mother has had her share of lobster pies in boston and claims that the stockyard's are the best. but a word of caution. this is a restaurant that is also something of a sports bar. it is not a great romantic restaurant. the prices are great but that means you can't expect table hote service. you are getting a great deal but that's the tradeoff. this is a place for people who care about getting their money's worth; its not the expense account crowd. so there are real bostonians here or really smart tourists. its hard to have a bad meal. a lot of items are terrific like the baby back ribs. get extra sauce.

Unsavory food, unprofessional waiter. I used to be a loyal diner at stockyard. It is not the capital grille but I was willing to sacrifice the side dishes and services for some good prime rib. After tonight I will make sure to tell everyone I know to not go there. It was possibly the worst dining experience of my life.

First, my boyfriend and I were seated outside of the main dining room in the ?cafe? area next to a teenage birthday party. I thought ?no problem, I?m here for the beef.? Then our waiter threw the menus on the table and walked away without a word. When he came back to take our order, he was cold and abrasive. I was a bit put-off but I shrugged it off thinking maybe he was having a tough day. But then I saw him being very warm and friendly toward the teenage girls sitting next to us offering to take pictures for them etc. H was way too busy flirting with teenage girls to even offer us bread.

Though I still can?t believe it, our waiter then proceeded to sit down next to the teenage girls at their table and cracked open a bottle of Perrier. He was having a great time chatting with the girls while watching the sox game on TV. Meanwhile, it has been 25 minutes since we sat down and we were still waiting for our food. That brings me to the food part. When it finally arrived, I was disappointed beyond belief. My ?English Cut? prime rib consists of two thin pieces of meat, 30% of which was non-editable fat. The sirloin on my boyfriend salad looked like it had been sitting in a fridge for couple of days.

In sum, the unsavory food coupled with atrocious and unprofessional service make stockyard a ?never again? restaurant for me.

Best lobster pie anywhere!!!!. In my opinion the Stockyard is one of the best restaurants in the area. I've been going there since I was a kid. It has a very cozy and comfortable atmosphere, not pretentious at all. Most of the time I get the lobster pie...which is outstanding!!! The prime rib is My wife always orders the Stockyard tips and loves the Margarita Shrimp appetizer. A salad, vegetable and potato are offered with most of the meals. The burgers are really good. I can't comment on the wait staff since I mainly dine at the the bar in the main dining room, but the bar staff have always been friendly and accomodating. I've taken family there for birthdays, etc and we've been seated in the private dining rooms which are spacious and private, I've brought clients there for appetizers and drinks and I've never been disappointed. I would recommend the Stockyard again and again!!!

Overrated. I looked at the menu online before driving out there and from the looks of it, and prices, it looked good. We got there and were rudely/barely greeted. We asked the waitress for a drink menu and she just gave me an attitude and asked me what I wanted because they didn't have a drink menu. We had an appetizer and before we were finished she brought us our salads. Before we were done with our salads she brought us our meals. I had the salmon and it was watery, tasteless, and bland. My baked potato was burned on the bottom and my steamed carrots were still crunchy. My boyfriend had some sort of steak and it was burnt on the outside and really raw on the inside (not medium like he ordered). They had us in and out the door in under 35 minutes!! The holiday decorations were tacky. The tv's were loud. I am never the one to write reviews, especially bad ones, but this place was horrible. I was extremely disappointed and I feelt really bad for taking my out of town friends there.

awesome for the price!. we went last night and although the service was a bit slow, it was busy and our water was always filled. the asparagus was delicious as was my filet mignon perfectly done in medium rare. they ran out of prime rib so my boyfriend had to have the ribeye, but he was very happy with it - also perfectly done in medium rare. you also get a salad, choice of potato and some veggies with your entree, and all for a great price! not the best, atmosphere, a little loud and with tvs at the bar so you'll hear cheers once in a while, but a great place to go out if you're looking for that kind of mood.

Affordable, dependable cuts rope 'em in at this comfortingly familiar Brighton landmark.. The Scene
Since 1972, carnivorous couples and famished families have stampeded to this local favorite just off the Mass Pike. The comfy steakhouse atmosphere hasn't changed much since then, which is just fine with the restaurant's many regulars. A young, mostly female waitstaff does an effective job of explaining the different cuts of meat available.

The Food
In-house butchers carve hearty porterhouses and tender filet mignons from the finest aged Angus beef available, yielding steak of comparable quality to that served in the city's swankiest chophouses. But prices are much more affordable here, and as a bonus steaks come with a choice of potato, plus a vegetable and garden salad. Lobster lovers shouldn't miss the "famous" lobster pie, in which a generous portion of fresh meat is baked in a savory cream sauce. Few patrons find room for standard, delicious desserts like chocolate mousse and apple pie.

Stockyard Is #1. The Stockyard is one of those restaurants that you go to time and again. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, the food is really good and reasonably priced and a great place to have a special function. Their new chef has changed up the menu a bit, some of the old favorites remain with several new additionstry a Petite filet mignon with a FRESH lobster tail or one of the new salads!!! Try the lobster rolla ? pint of FRESH lobster saladyou wont be disappointed!!! The burgers are always perfectanyway you like. My favorite is their mashed potatoes which come with most of the entrees. Their private dining rooms are ideal for birthday parties, rehearsal dinners or meetings.

Over Done. My steak was cooked to perfection but the hype was over done. An ordinary salad, marginal service and very small drinks with very big prices made this the most disapointing dinning experience in years. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.
