The Scene – This downtrodden local institution--not a favorite of Allston's black-clad scenesters--caters to loyal regulars with an unpretentious environment, inexpensive drinks, and hard-charging live music. The Hidden Jem of Allston... So many times I walked past that place and thought "what a waste". But surely enough I was pulled in by it's ease of charm and it's ease of bookin'; if you got what it takes. O'Brien's has quickly become one of my favorite bars for more than one reason. So next time your out and tired of the same old thang... pay the 5 bucks and set your soul free for a few hours... PEACE.
- Pros: Hit or MissLive Music, Comfortable, $1.50 PBR on tap!!!!!
- Cons: Bring ear plugs, Just in case, but they do sell 'em

Leave the plastic at home; the bar is cash only. Luckily, there's an ATM a few doors down inside Store 24.
