“The beer is good, prices are great but - the crowd is a little young.”
“Some may call it a dive, others a college bar but I find the crowd to be the right out of college, young professionals of Allston/Brighton who want to watch the game, eat good food, and drink cheap beer.”
“The waitresses are always friendly even during the rush hours but to me The Avenue it's just a cool place for college students to drink couple beers before they go somewhere else.”

No $1 drafts. The bartender lied to me twice. He said drafts were $2.00 , not $1.00, and he said there was no internet but I got a decent signal (free). Either they false advertise or they lie to your face. Never going there again.
$1 Bud Light but 2 crowed. Great place to go but you've to get there really early because the bar doens't have many chairs and tables. young crowd. I've been to the ave. several times when I'm in Boston visiting friends. The beer is good, prices are great but - the crowd is a little young. I'm sure i'll go back.
Amazing!.
I'm extremely white and very much enjoyed my experience here. Thanks for the recommendation!!
The beer was cold.
Great Affordable Sports Bar!. Some may call it a dive, others a college bar but I find the crowd to be the right out of college, young professionals of Allston/Brighton who want to watch the game, eat good food, and drink cheap beer. I have been going there regularly for a couple of years and as a girl who loves the Sox, its the only place for me to watch the game when i go out.
bouncers are racists.
this place is trash and therefore gets a zero. seriously, the beer is cheap but aweful and on most nights you're waiting in a long line hoping to get in. they charge 5 bucks just to get in on thursday, fridays and weekend nights which is ridiculous. who pays just to be allowed to spend money?
but what angered me most is that their bouncers are racistt prickss. one of them insulted a lady in front of me for no reason and when she tried to talk to him he treated her like a stupid kid even though she was not only older than him but way smarter. she wouldn't take it and he yelled at her and kicked her out. she was sober, just had one glas of wine. when i inquired to see the manager about this, another bouncer claimed to be the manager of the place and woldn't listen to anything. he didn't provide me with the name of the bouncer and wouldn't even give me his own name upon request. i've never seen a place where people got treated like this. there is no reason to support this business with ur money and those guys will never get a single dollar out of my and any of my friends' pockets again... welcome to the 21st century you fu*%ing prickss. college kids listen there are better places and whoever tolerates racism is just so not welcome in allston.
peace
sorry for the misspellings but they wouldn't let me publish in spoken english
BEST College Bar in BOSTON!. Quick responsive bartenders, super friendly. 1$ Drafts, 25cent wings (Which are INCREDIBLE!) I would love to see this bar + grill #1 on Citysearch!!
Student-friendly hangout provides an inexpensive place to hang..
The Scene
The Avenue's cheap drinks and laid-back vibe make it a favorite with the area's huge barely-21 crowd. Many patrons choose to come as they are--think jeans, sneakers and baseball caps. With Allston's most popular bars within walking distance, the Avenue serves as a great, inexpensive place to meet up with friends before heading out to a final destination.
The Draw
Variety is the name of the game here, as the fully stocked bar (over two-dozen beers on tap) and endless multi-ethnic food menu will attest. Testosterone-friendly amenities include a basement game room (pinball, video games, pool table) and several flat-screen TVs blaring different sporting events from around the country. Besides average bar food, the menu sports pages and pages of Mexican, Italian, and Asian dishes available for lunch and dinner. A house DJ gets the place jumping on the weekends.
Dollar Beers. Dollar Drafts - all day, every day! NOT a place for live music, though.
