Incredible beer selection, good vibe. It was the first time for me in Allston and my friends took me to this joint. Now, if your preferred drink/food combination is burger and beer you have come to the right place. The first thing I noticed was the incredible beer selection. Since I like to explore, it took me forever to make up my mind and select a beer. They almost have too many beers on tap. They also have a large selection of different snacks and entrees. But for me, the burger I had definitely hit the spot.…
Awesome burgers, awesome beer list. I've been to Sunset a number of times. Their beer burger is amazing and won't disappoint anyone. My friends and I tried it at the same time and we were all impressed. Their beer on tap options are second-to-none. If you want a burger and a beer, go to Sunset. My only problem would be the restaurant itself. It's a bar-restaurant so don't expect ultra-nice or clean facilities.…
Beer Drinker's Delight.
An Allston mecca and staple, Sunset Grill & Tap is truly a beer drinker's delight. The beer menu is positively overwhelming (a pamplet with several double-sided pages, all crammed together in
six-point font). The servers, however, will give you suggestions if you let them know what you're eating and what your preferences are. But don’t let that dissuade you. This is a place to be adventurous. Your palate will thank you. There are even beer flights for those of you who just can’t seem to make up your mind.
In terms of food, you can’t go wrong with their monstrous nachos or a burger. They steam the burgers in beer and offer all manner of ridiculous toppings and combinations. Again, get a little crazy – it’s well worth it.
Service can be spotty (I’ve had amazing servers and downright stank servers) but its Allston so that is to be expected. Get here. Now.…
Great for food, dates, hangouts, everything!. Gotta love Sunset's! I'd been going to Cantina when I lived closer to BU campus, but now that I'm off-campus it made sense to frequent Grill & Tap now. The amount of beers they have is INCREDIBLE. Literally, anything you can think of, they have. They also have great specials on pints and larger, and towers! The food is hands-down delicious - the nachos are a staple, but don't try to take a full-size portion on by yourself...! The boneless buffalo wings are pretty good, as are the quesedillas and the salads. Burgers and onion rings here are the best hangover remedy! Expect to spend between $10 and $15, depending on what you eat/drink.…
Surprisingly good food. I have been to Sunset a few times for drinks - always a good selection of beer as they are known for and a good crowd. I recently ordered food and was pleasantly surprised, for a bar, the food was good quality and prepared nicely. Would definitely recommend Sunset for both drinks and DINNER!…
