Body Mind Systems, a comprehensive martial arts system with seven martial arts schools in the Greater Boston area, New Jersey and Maine, is opening its doors to the public for an Open House Week from Monday March 16, 2009 through Saturday March 21, 2009. During this time, the public is invited to participate in any regularly-scheduled class, compliments of the schools.
Adults (ages 15 and older) and children (ages 4-14) who are interested in martial arts training should call the school nearest them to schedule an initial free trial lesson and learn about class times. No prior experience is necessary. Participants should wear comfortable clothing.
In a time when it seems like you have so little control over your environment, we remind men and women that the one thing you have the most control over, ever, is your own mind and body, says Bob Lee, a 2nd Degree Black Belt Instructor at Body Mind Systems Stoneham, Massachusetts school. What people forget is that their own mind and body are the two things that they cant replace. Your mental health and physical well-being enable you to make the most of your life. If either one is not strong, the rest of your life is negatively affected. Look at a persons attitude as soon as they get something as simple as a cold. They focus on how bad they feel, stop going to work and stay home. How much does your life get held back because of your health or attitude?
Body Mind Systems uses martial arts knowledge to help men and women improve themselves physically and mentally. Martial arts training helps improve confidence, discipline, focus, willpower, patience and awareness as well as helps with weight loss, stress relief and developing practical self-defense skills. Body Mind Systems specializes in teaching men and women how to use martial arts training to improve themselves, and therefore affects every other aspect of their life, which then creates a more successful and meaningful life.
Body Mind Systems martial arts training can help anyone develop these mental and physical attributes, regardless of age, background or current physical ability.

I thoroughly enjoy my training & feel that all of the instructors have the best intention of the students at heart. Don't get me wrong, it's hard work but the mental & physical benefits make it more than worth it. I have pushed myself to limits I didn't think were possible, consequently, increasing my self-confidence. I can't say enough about the staff eg: their support and encouragement.
I don't have children but I advised my brother to allow both of his boys to attend a free trial lesson; they LOVED it and have since enrolled! I had seen some of the children (students) in passing and noted their behavior is both disciplined and well-mannered (which, unfortunlately, seems not to be the norm in this day and age)!! The instructors are in complete control of the classes and handle the children with respect whilst maintaining a disciplinary role. The outcome of training is significant in the social rearing of children.
They have just recently moved to West Roxbury but it's not much farther away & parking is MUCH better so it isn't so bad. If you're looking for a martial arts school in Boston, you have to try this school!!!!!

Roslindale's Best

The Center for Asian Martial Arts, Health and Wellness is an amazing place. The school offers classes to children, juniors and adults. They teach 8 different martial arts: Tae Kwon Do (Kong Su), Kung Fu, Udo, Tai Chi, Ai Ki Do/Hap Ki Do, Bagwa Chung, Kom Do (Samurai Sword) and Pal Gye (18 weapons). They teach people at all abilities and age ranges. The school offers everyone the opportunity to learn for both their mind and body. The approach is positive and encouraging - there's no shouting and demanding. I've gained more than I can say in my year of belonging to the school
- Pros: approach, multiple styles taugh, staff
