ashmont grill guys do it again.
Being a die hard for Ashmont grille I was so excited to come to Tavolo and check it out. The space is gorgeous and decorated very well. The menu is very very small. I didn't find it to have too many options and was a tiny bit pricey for the limited options. I honestly don't even remember what i ordered but my guest ordered a delicious meal that we both loved. Although the space is nice and Ashmont is still on the rise, it was semi sketchy walking back to the car we passed two beggars and while i was eating I definitely did think; "oh, I hope my car is safe". the service was sub par.

Chris Douglass' Tavolo feeds Dorchester and beyond with humble and delicious Italian staples like housemade pizza and pasta..
Comfort food doesn't have to adhere to the American formula of meatloaf and mac 'n' cheese, as proven by Chris Douglass' meatball panini garganelli carbonara, which sticks to the ribs with the best of them. The Dorchester-based restaurateur tosses pizzas and salads and Italian antipasto together in his affordable Italian eatery Tavolo, the walls cloaked in cheerful colors and doodle-friendly details. No dish goes for more than $16, and a small but sweet, all-Italian wine list is entirely available by the glass. Everything's available for takeout, a good a reason as any to finally erase your 1-800-GREASE-PIE on speed-dial.
