Amazing Wigs for Hair Loss.. I am a fifteen year old girl and have been to the Salon 10 many times. I was diagnosed with alopecia when I was 7 years old. I went to Pat when I was entering Middle School, and she knew exactly what I was looking for, and made sure that I was happy. Pat is the sweetest person ever, and her staff is so helpful and really care to make sure that you are happy with your wig. My hair came back for a year or 2, but then my alopecia came back and Pat was able to help me again with a new wig and made sure that again I was happy. Everything from the cut, to the style, to the color, length, and to the way that it made my face look. No ones knows that I wear a wig because it looks so real! I love my wig and I am so happy that I met Pat. She will do anything to help me.
Amazing Wig for Chemo Treatment!!!.
I have gone to The Salon at 10 Newbury's Hair Replacement Center since I was diagnosed w/ breast cancer in May at age 24. From the start, Pat and the team there have been amazing, and have made the experience of hair loss due to chemotherapy easier and less scary than I had anticipated. They helped me create/select a customized wig before chemotherapy started, and then have helped me to maintain and care for my wig when I started to use it during chemotherapy treatment. I could not be happier with the wig--everyone, from family and friends to coworkers and new acquaintances--have been amazed at how natural it looks; no one can tell that it is not my real hair.
Having a beautiful, quality, customized wig has given me confidence and peace of mind throughout my cancer treatment. Undergoing treatment for cancer is a challenge, and hair loss due to chemotherapy can be an added burden. With my wig, hair loss was one less thing to worry about--I could focus on my health and treatment, and feel great about how I looked. At The Salon at 10 Newbury's Hair Replacement Center, you will receive excellent service, support, and compassion in addition to great hair replacement solutions.
Makes my look younger.
When I finally made the decision to where a hair piece, I found Pat. My experience was more than I could have asked for. My hair was so fine you could see my scalp and this made me look old. After being fitted for a hair piece I now have a finished look that make me look 10 years younger. I say this because now people stop me and say " WOW! you look great, what have to done to your self, did you loose weight. (I wish).
Thanks Pat for making me look and feel wonderful.

Wonderful Experience. The hardest part of my experience was making that first phone call to Patricia. After that, it was easy. From the moment my daughter and I entered the salon, we were made to feel at ease and welcome. My thin hair had been an embarrassment for far too long and it was with both excitement and anticipation that I went to see Patricia. Her gentle manner, superior expertise, and willingness to listen all contributed to a wonderful experience. I proudly wore my new wig out of the salon! I highly recommend this wonderful salon and Patricia Wrixon to anyone suffering the effects of chemo or alopecia.
How Lucky We Are!. If you are facing chemotherapy, you MUST get in to Salon 10..... This will be the place for you - heaven sent! Pat knows exactly what you need, even before you know - and = her kindness and professionalism exceed all - we are lucky to have Salon 10
Amazing Salon! Super Service!. The Salon At 10 Newbury is a beautiful salon conveniently located on Newbury Street. Unfortunately, my visit to the salon was just after a shocking breast cancer diagnosis at a young age; I learned that I would be losing my hair very soon due to chemotherapy. Very fortunately, I had done my research and learned that Pat Wrixon had a wonderful reputation for matching clients with the perfect wig. From the moment I met Pat, I knew I was in good hands. Not only is she super knowledgeable, Pat is highly sensitive to the emotional needs of clients going through trying times like mine, and a great listener. She was very attentive to my wishes, while gently making suggestions based on her many years of experience. Pat and her team generously spent hours with me and walked me through every step of finding my perfect wig: from choosing the right color, length, and type of hair, shaving off my real hair, teaching me how to shampoo the wig, cutting, blowing and styling the wig, etc. Pat and every stylist I worked with were so professional, patient, and talented. During difficult times, it makes all the difference in the world when people take the time to show you that they really care and want to make you happy. This alone, would motivate me to right a glowing review of this special salon. Though, I should definitely mention that my wig turned out absolutely gorgeous!!! It is just like my natural hair only much, much better and easy to manage! It would have to be pried off my head once chemotherapy is over, except that I am anxious to see how the wizards at 10 Newbury can transform the new hair that grows in! I have gone to many, many salons in Boston. No matter how you look at it, Cancer is BAD. However, I have found that there can be some good things that come from having cancer. For me, meeting Pat and knowing that I have finally found a salon where I can always count on great service, genuine cutsomer care, and cutting edge style is a VERY GOOD THING.
Exceptional Care.
Making the decision to wear a hair piece was very difficult for me. Pat Wrixon at The Salon at 10 Newbury helped me to accept the inevitable. She has a remarkable gift of calmness, patience and knowledge that convinces you that it is the right resolution, but she never tries to influence you.
Each time I have returned for a trim of my own hair, she has been more than willing to spend time with me. I am very grateful.
All around Excellent. Coming from someone like me, this is a very big deal. I have been searching too long for a good stylist in Boston who is good at both coloring and cutting, and of the 2 years I have lived here I had not yet found one. I have tried over ten stylists at the top-rated salons on Newbury, but never returned for a second visit to a single one, until I heard about the Salon at 10 Newbury and had Elie recommended to me. I have very long thick blonde hair that is hard to manage and is pretty dried out from at least 5 years of color treatment, but Elie literally transformed my hair into something that did not even look like my own... It was amazing. I brought in a few pictures of what I thought I wanted and Elie ran with it and added his own suggestions. The color was Perfect and the cut was just what I wanted, not too much but not too little. So many stylists will blindly do exactly what you tell them to do without a care as to whether it is the most practical or whether it is a good look for you. Thanks to Elie and his 15+ years of experience and his genuine passion for making your hair look good, I saved myself money, time, and whatever health my hair had left. Plus-- most importantly, my hair looks and feels Great, so I look and feel great. I will never go to another salon as long as I live in Boston!! Thanks Elie :)
Professional, warm and thorough. After years of trying to disguise my thinning hair, I finally booked an appointment to discuss wig options with Pat Wrixon. During our 2 hour consultation, she patiently explained my options without exerting any pressure to buy. She carefully selected a combination of several different colors of human and synthetic hair to replicate my own natural and highlighted blonde hair (but with more volume!) and made a mold of my scalp. After the wig arrived, she styled it until we were both delighted. I have great hair! Thank you, Pat.
customized wigs. In September Pat Wrixon at The Salon at 10 Newbury Street fitted me for a wig before my chemotherapy treatment. To my amazement, my wig looks so much like my own hair that most people do not know I have a wig on. Of course, the wig always looks like I just came from the beauty salon. People are always complimenting me on how wonderful I and my hair look! My wig is so comfortable that I just put it on in the morning, forget about it and take it off at night. But the most memorable part of the fittings was Pat herself. Her skills at selecting and styling the right wig for her customers comes wrapped in a package of calmness, kindness and gentleness. Her smile fills the room with peace. A potentially stressful experience turned out to be one of joy.
