great place for a good meal. The Lamb shank in tomatoe sauce is delicious, reminds me of my dads' cooking he used to make hearty meals like that. Not many places serve entrees like that. Very delicious

Great food, great price at the Pleasant.. I live in San Diego and come back to Boston once or twice a year, and after my plane lands, I head right to the Pleasant for a cheese pizza. And I'll end up going there a few more times during my stay. Always great and very reasonable.

If its Friday - its the Pleasant. We love the Pleasant and have loved it for years! The pizza is the best. I was a Town Spa gal for a long time but have long since returned to the Pleasant. Its a local town cafe and as such has an appropriate atmosphere. The waitresses have been great and its always a relaxing time going there. I've had fish and pasta there as well and both have been fine. If its Friday .... its the Pleasant.

Best Pizza in Boston and Now Best Lamb Chops. Spent another Friday night at the Pleasant Cafe and once again left full and happy. The pizza is out of this world. We all know that - --it can not be beat! But last night I went out on a limb and tried the lamb chop special. They were amazing - melted in my mouth. I am still thinking about them. The waitress told me they are a popular special and now I know why. They are not on the menu so if you see them on the specials board - DEFINITELY give them a try.

Awful. The food and the service at this place is horrible. I ordered the eggplant parm which came out cold and the sauce was sour. It was soggy and seemed like it had been left over from a previous night. Waited about 35-40 mins for the waitress to bring over the check so i could leave and the place was empty. I think she had gone on her dinner break and forgot!! I do not reccomend that anyone go to this restaurant!!

5 minutes or 35 minutes???. Horrible waitress! After we ordered, she brought us our drinks & told us our pizza was in and would be out in 5-10mintues, which sounded about right, since there were only 5 other tables seated. She came by to check if we wanted another round of drinks, but no word on our pizza. The second time she stopped by, 25 minutes after ordering, I asked her if she could make the pizza to go. She came back a couple minutes later and told us that our pizza should be out in a couple minutes and told us that the kitchen was backed up with take out orders. (I thought our pizza was already in?) 10 minutes later we still didnt have our pizza, so I left $ for the drinks, got up and left. We got no apology and barley an explanation. Not very Pleasant if you ask me.

best local pizza. When I can't get my fix at Town Spa, the Pleasant in Roslindale fits the bill. No other local pizza place can step up to the plate! They also have great daily specials.
