No Dogs Allowed. A great bar, excellent bartenders. They know how to pour a pint of guinness. The only exception is that some of us are allergic to dogs. Which they allow in the bar during the day. Not good for folks w/ dog allergies.

Best bar in boston!. Great bar! Live Irish music every saturday. Bring in your dog during the day. Great staff. Always a good conversation and a great game of darts. I think its the best bar in Boston

This small, dark Jamaica Plain pub is the pinnacle of neighborhood cool.. In Short
Unlike Doyle's Cafe, JP's other near-infamous Irish pub, this bar is small and quite dark. Neighborhood-friendly and completely devoid of TVs, the Behan has diehards who come to talk and stare into the fish tank above the bar. The noise level is moderate when there's no live music. Quaff the great Irish stouts (Beamish, Murphy's and, of course, Guinness) in the spiritual company of Joyce, Swift, Yeats and Mr. Behan himself.
