Huge variety!. It's true, the service can be mixed and it does get very crowded. Try to go a little later than peak time and it's easier to get seated.

I've loved every type of pancake I tried there (and there have been many over the years), as well as the corn bread French toast and (my absolute favorite) the homemade polenta with tofu, guacamole and fresh salsa. I ordered a fruit cup with it but was way too full to eat much of the fruit.

Coffee is pretty weak, but there is fresh-squeezed orange juice which is pricey but delish. Overall the menu is fairly priced and the portions are generous.

Do they know good service?. I'm sorry--the food might be remotely good, but the service at this place is absolutely horrible. You are lucky if you get a hello when you walk in, usually it just a loud "HOW MANY?" If they are busy they will normally bark at you to walk outside and next door to their other dining room.

The coffee is great!.. But enjoy it, because the chances you are going to get a refill are slim. Forget about ice water with your meal, they don't subscribe to that level of hospitality.

All in all, if they would work on hiring some people that really care this place would be amazing. Take my word--go check it out, and I know you will agree with everything I say.

Editorial Review. Popular JP breakfast spot serves offbeat, award-winning breakfast fare (blueberry-hazelnut pancakes, peanut butter-banana French toast).

Great Pancakes - Service SO-SO. The pancakes are great! They recently expanded, but I don't think the kitchen is equipped to handle the extra capacity. The last time I was there, I tried an omelet, it came three times with almost raw insides, and the waitress had the gall to bring me the end of the loaf of bread, toasted ans flipped over so I wouldn;t see it was the end! I will do take out, but will go somewhere else for weekend breakfasts!

Great food, small place. A veggie-lovers dream breakfast place, where the omelets are filled with anything you might find in a good produce section, in very creative blends named for regulars and friends. My friends have said the pancakes and french toast are great too. Don't worry canivores, there are regular breakfast meats on the menu too. Downstairs is more cramped than upstairs, with many small tables (a 2-top is barely enough for 2 adults and their plates), but is just right for a neighborhood place. May be tough for those who require strollers or disability access.

The Best there is. This place is simply the best breakfast diner I have ever been to. You can get anything you can imagine. I had pancakes with raisins, peaches, walnuts, strawberries, cinnamon and whipped cream. It's not the fanciest place, but the food is the best ever.

worth the wait!!!. They have such wonderful and creative fresh pancakes, omelets are to die for. They come up with the most original combinations. Where else can you get pumkin pancakes with creamcheese and strawberry's. Arugala, mozzerella, ...I can't even remember all the delicious offerings. It's a small place in JP and on the weekends people lineup to get in. The prices are reasonable for all the fresh ingredients, fresh squeezed juices and all other kinds of goodies... It's fun and funky greasy spoon.
