Dont order foos!. I went to Doyle's because they have a deal that if you go after you tour the Sam Adams Brewery you can get a free glass when you order a beer.

The beer and the glass were great, but the service and food were terrible. First the waitress was not friendly and kept coming back over to the table because she couldnt remember what we ordered.

Then they messed up my friends order and it took a good 15 minutes for them to fix it, when all they needed to do was bring her something they forgot on the dish!

I ordered nachos, which came with cheese whiz on it. Who puts cheese whiz on $8 nachos??

They also messed up on our checks and when i checked my bank statement after coming home I saw they over charged me.

I'd only go here for beer, and to be safe, pay with cash!!

Excellent Brunch & Pizza. The brunch and pizza are excellent and the beer selection is good. I would definitely recommend the eggs bellange, which is eggs benedict with hash instead of ham or Canadian bacon. I used to go to Doyle's all the time but have stopped going as often because the service is consistently terrible. The servers are slow, even when the place is not crowded. It can be tough to get a refill on water or order another beer.

Great Head and Bread. The Guinness was the best I have ever had in the States. If my eyes were closed I would swear I was in Ireland. The most perfect pour and the best tasting. Glad to see you all know how to clean your lines.

The French Dip was very good and excellent for the price. The meat was moist and full of flavor. The bread was fresh also.

The bartender and staff went out of their way to make one feel at home.

I will be back. GUINES

Highly Recommend a Visit. I am from New Hampshire visiting the Boston Area and was urged by my colleagues to visit the esteemed Irish Pub in J.P. With the tin ceilings, oak bar, and political memorabilia hanging on the walls it easy to see that Doyle?s is ingrained in its Irish heritage yet very much attuned to today?s popular culture. When I visited, a local Frisbee team was having dinner after a game and people were gathered around the bar watching the Red Sox game. The lively atmosphere, service, food, and tap selection exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend a visit to Jamaica Plains Doyle?s Cafe.

BAD service. I was there on St. Patricks day. I am from So. California and visiting friends in Boston. As soon as I walked in everyone was staring like I was from another galaxy. The staff was not welcoming. I got horrible service from the bartender to the waitress. ( She couldn't bare to look at my dark skin) I felt very out of place and knew that I was not welcome. The food was bad( Boiled dinner?) and it my bloody mary was horrible. I wish these people would welcome all cultures as I was to be celebrating a great irish tradition.

A neighborhood landmark since 1882, and the spot where almost every politician smiles over a pint come campaign time.. The Scene
Doyle's attracts an unusually diverse and friendly clientele, from neighborhood regulars to political buffs. Photographs and newspaper clippings on the walls provide a surprisingly good lesson in Boston's political history; every mayor since Honey Fitz has dined (and glad-handed) here.

The Food
Stick-to-your-ribs offerings like thick and creamy clam chowder. The burger is a monster; choose among beef, turkey or vegetable. Try the boneless prime rib with superb mashed potatoes. There's also the famous corned beef and cabbage, served every Thursday and on St. Patrick's Day (if you can get in the door). Wash it all down with Irish whiskey or pick a brew from Doyle's large selection of Irish and non-Irish beers. The kitchen makes all its own desserts except for the cheesecake, baked by a relative of the owners.

Worth a visit. Used to be an awesome local bar/pub, now ex-locals and others keep it going. Sort of resting on its laurels, but still a good example of a Boston-Irish pub. Great Guinness and Sam Adams Family beers on tap. Huge single-malt scotch inventory. Very good hearty food. My favs are the Sweet Potato fries and Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl. Service can be slow, and it can be very noisy and crowded at night. NOT the place for intimate conversation, but a good place to meet for drinks and fun. Very close to the Green St T stop on the Ornage line.

going downhill. Doyle's used to be a great bar. Perhaps it's been featured in too many films and David E. Kelley dramas, because in the past couple of years the service has hit rock bottom. I was there with five friends this past Sunday. The place was half empty. The server got an order wrong and by the time it was corrected, half the table was finished eating. No apology. No free drinks. (p.s. better off ordering all of the drinks you plan to consume up front, because you'll never see your server again.)
