Mama's Italian Cooking. I love Mario's - the food is fabulous, the staff is wonderful; Ursula is the best - she'll make anything you want to eat whether it is on the menu or not! The portions are huge. My favorite: shrimp or lobster portabella - it's a specialty that isnt often on the menu. If you ask really nice, you may get lucky! Grilled sausage appetizer served with the salad - yum! What can I say - i'm a big fan. My usual dish is shrimp scampi over fettucini! It is normally served over linguini but i prefer it over the wider noodle - makes the sauce taste even better. Fabulous place, fabulous people.

Yummy!. HUGE portions, incredible staff, and they'll make anything you want. If they've got the ingredients, it's yours.

Ask for the vodka sauce on... well, anything really. It's delicious.

And for an appetizer, you MUST ask for the stuffed peppers. I don't know if they're on the menu or not, actually, but they stuff some small peppers with cheese and prosciutto and it's just about heavenly. Or try the antipasto, which is the best I've had, including every place I've tried in the North End (which is admittedly only seven or eight places).

They know what they're doing, and it's more than worth the drive. You'll come back again and again.

Veal at its best. Mario's is consistantly excellent. Dining is a joy there. Their veal and vegetable in a lemon butter sauce can't be beat.
