Back around 1998 I wrote a review in Virtually Wired's Boston One Stop (a website geared towards my fave Boston eateries that were easily reached via the T) & raved about how this place run by Victor (whose father was a bocce-playing pal of my own dad, Joe Shoemaker) was my favorite restaurant in Eastie. After a dozen years living in NY & then NJ I have seen most of my favorite local eateries, bakeries & butchers disappear, so I was cautious about getting excited when I heard Italian Express was back down the Point but under 'new' ownership [14 years now!] What a treat! My pal has long moved on but the sauce here is still epic, the meatballs great & the Veal Marsala even made my gf Mallory -- a wonderful cook who makes a mean Chicken Marsala herself -- take a few notes. Once again there's a place worth driving the 5 hours for! Thanks for a wonderful meal,

More Than Meets The Eye - Wonderful!!. I was genuinely impressed with the food and service at Italian Express. The casual ambiance could perhaps suggest that this is your regular run-of-the-mill pizza place. Nothing could be further from the truth. The staff is incredibly congenial and expert at making everyone feel at home. The food was out of this world. I had the pasta e fagiole, chicken parmesan with ravioli and a glass of Merlot. It made me almost giddy to see what care had been taken in preparing my food. I also sampled the meatballs - the biggest, fresh and moist meatballs I have ever had (sorry mom).

As if this weren't enough to put me over the edge, I couldn't help but try a cannoli for dessert. I normally don't like cannoli, but the cream they use to fill it is to die for - so creamy and just sweet enough without overstaying its welcome on the taste buds. It was a fantastic end to my meal.

I will gladly return to Italian Express, not only for the solidly wonderful food, but for the warmth of the restaurant and its staff. I hear people (beyond the locals) are really noticing this place, and for good reason. Don't mistake the simplicity and earnestness of the establishment for anything less than a lovely home-cooked meal in a relaxing environment.

BEST ITALIAN IN EASTIE. Great food! we order out alot and this is our Italian Best..

the food is always hot when we receive it and the flavors are great I love their sauces .I have be following THE ITALIAN Express for years. Dont miss out !!!

A Gem in the heart of Eastie!!. Great homemade Italian meals and pizza! I live no more than two blocks from this establishment and every time I visit to make an order they go above and beyond, EVERYTIME!!

The gentlemen that run this place know what they are doing, and the place is always well packed with patrons. The meals are fantastic, the price is just right, and they make you feel welcomed no matter how many times you visit!

The slices are gigantic, the wine selection is fantastic, and the beer compliments the food! The ambience of the restaurant itself is soft and welcoming and I look forward to making reservations for the new patio area for my birthday!

Your Nonni would be so proud!. Amazing. Italian Express is one of those places that once you go, you will keep going back. I have yet to have a bad meal there. My husband is just hooked on their Chicken Broccoli Alfredo. Their portions are HUGE. I'm currently making my way around their menu, but so far my favorite is the Chicken Parm with Raviolis. The guys there are awesome and super friendly, Jim, one of the owners, makes it a point to stop by your table and chat for a bit. They also have an awesome patio out back so that you can enjoy the few good weather days we have left in Boston. All in all, one of my favorite places to eat, hands down.

Mouth watering. I have had there food so many times and everytime I ate from Italian express I craved more. To have great Italian food in Eastie is awesome There chicken cutlets parm. Is to die for in amazing sauce with Rav's how italian can you get. You won't be dissapointed they also have a great wine & beer menu Head down to Italian express in the heart of Eastie's Jeffries Point and see what the rave is all about..

East Boston's Best Italian Pizzeria and Restaurant. Excellant food, no matter what I have ordered here, it has always been delicious. I have never been disappointed.

The ravioli and meatballs is one of my favorites dishes . I also love the steak bomb sub with a little sauce over it. They make a great eggplant Menino appetizer. (if you love ricotta you'll love this) and to top it off they make cannoli's to order.

I just can't say enough about Italian Express Pizzeria. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the staff are always greeting you with a smile. Beer and wine are now available. Soon an outside patio will be available for 30 seats. (Nice place for a party)

Its easy walk from the blue line's Maverick Station (3 blocks away on Sumner St. East Boston).

Great neighborhood Pizzeria. Italian Express is a great small pizzeria in the heart of Jeffries Point. I have eaten there a number of times and while I do like the pizza a lot, I absolutely LOVE love love the pasta dishes. The portions are rather large (read: take to lunch the next day and make your entire office jealous because of the fantastic smell),but it's truly delicious comfort food. the Shrimp Scampi are amazing with garlic and olive oil...yummy!

The service is always incredibly friendly and quick.

I can't wait for them to open their back patio! Should be a great summer in Eastie. :)
