In Short – Morrissey croons from the stacked jukebox near Flann O'Brien's well-worn pool table, while regulars and off-duty docs line a bar complete with 24 taps (enjoy hard-to-find imports like Belhaven and Boddington's). Guinness signs, oil paintings of Ireland's finest scribes and a collection of kitschy knick-knacks round out the decor. Build your own burger for about $6, or try a made-to-order wrap. More traditional offerings include bangers and beans, or a hearty Irish breakfast.

Best irish Pub!!!!!

by chucklaw12 at Citysearch

I had the best time at Flanns! The music is great and the service is awsome! I had a burger and i swear, it was the best I've had. The bartenders are great, not snobby, typical airhead bartenders. I went on a sunday nite and it had the best vibe!

A neighborhood pub, open to all

by ggrant02151 at Citysearch

We just found Flann's after moving in this week and are new to the Mission Hill/Longwood area.

I had to take a second to write a few words about Flann's because we had an absolute blast there the other night!

My wife and I stopped in for dinner and the food was great (I had the pulled pork and my wife had the veggie burger). We were also very happy with the vibe from the patrons and the employees. Flann's was warm and welcoming. They played a great selection of music and what caught our eyes was that they had one of the most diverse crowds I've ever seen in a local/neighborhood style Irish pub - students, doctors, young, old and everthing in between. It was an all around great experiance, minus the slight hangover. Quality food, served hot and without delay, fair prices, a polite staff that made us feel at home and a surprisingly good beer selection. We look forward to going back.

  • Pros: Prices, Service and location
  • Cons: Tough to get a seat after 11ish on the weekend.

Our First Friday at Flann's

by keitht02130 at Citysearch

We found Flann?s after work.It was recommended by a co-worker of mine who was always raving about her neighborhood pub.I was frequently told of its charm&one of a kind vibe mornings@work,post her crazy weekends out.As a bunch of 20-somethings who usually venture out to our fancy downtown digs,we chose Flann?s,a small local instead?and it lived up to all our expectations.

Of what little I/we remember is this:We had dinner from what turned out to be a menu that has typical Irish fare&pub grub, but went well above our expectations. We were very content with the service. What came as a surprise was that we not only had a friendly&responsive waitress, but the entire staff was visibly checking on tables too?occasionally asking if we needed anything. The beer selection was fantastic there had to have been 30 draft choices alone?nevermind the bottles.

Flann?s got packed and our crowd of 9 people had grown as a result of our table location&the eclectic mix of students, very entertaining locals and professionals.Walking the floor was the pub?s owner who greeted us and from what we ascertained is a fixture, greeting patrons and running the crew?this was a great sign. The place was jumping, the music was bumping and the bartenders were serving top notch,SUPER strong cocktails (and for our cheaper friends:pitchers that even welfare case pals can afford)!

The food was great,as was the ambiance, such as stained glass&intimate lighting. The service was friendly&very attentive?you know the service is good on Friday when you remember the servers name on Monday. At the end of the night the few of us who remained were allowed to finish our drinks, without the hoooahh yellin of doormen that people come to expect in some pubs?notably, the bartender asked if we needed him to call a cab to get home safe.

A complete night out?done VERY affordably,in the company of good people,in a not-so-typical pub.The music kept us movin, the pool kept the guys busy and I even got to dance on the bar!

  • Pros: Prices, Service, Staff, Food and Vibe. A great time had by all types.
  • Cons: Drinks can be STRROONNGG!
