Editorial Review for etant Day Spa – by Leah Gourley
The Scene
The level of serenity inside Etant (French for "being") contrasts with the steady commotion outside on Tremont Street. Focusing on consonance of mind and body, the spa operates opposite of Newbury Street's chichi spas, drawing customers more concerned with wellness than pampering. That's not to say that pampering isn't on the agenda--relaxing is effortless in the softly lit treatment rooms. Expertly trained staffers exude warmth and are the friendliest in town.
The Services
Body treatments like mud therapy and salt scrubs renew the skin, while a soybean facial is packed with vitamins to renew and refresh. Reflexology, ear candling and acupuncture are popular treatments, but for a unique experience, opt for the personal energetic alignment: This combination of light touch, Reiki and polarity therapy aligns the body's energy systems, promoting balance and inner peace. Indulge in a glorious, hour-long duet massage (four hands are better than two), or share the experience with someone special.

I take my wife for a spa treatment and massage for our anniversary and for her birthday every year. We dad gone to a couple different spas in Back Bay for years in which the last couple times we didn't have the best experiences. Etant came highly recommended to me by a colleague, so I thought I would give it a try. Why not, right? My colleague didn't talk it up highly enough. Our experience exceeded both myself and my wife's expectations. In my opinion most higher end spas in downtown Boston give a great massage, facial, treatments, etc. That's a give in - It's what they do! The aspects that made Etant so spectcular was the atmosphere, the services, and the staff. We almost felt like we were in our own home - that's how comfortable we felt. Spa's can be a bit stuffy and pretensious, but I didn't get that sense here. My sense was they wanted to make me feel more comfortable then over the top pampered and in my opinion comfort is the best pampering one can get. I want to thank the staff at Etant and looking forward to seeing each of you again!!! By the way, I am a bit shocked about the last posting considering what myself and everyone else has to say. Maybe you should go to Newbury and you will get a high dose of "fake" people. Cheers!

Although the massage therapists were adequate. I got the feeling that the owner was very fake and very annoying. He pretended that he was interested in my well-being, but was only interested in my money. I would go somewhere else and would not spend any more time or money at this establishment!!
